Something Old, Something New - Quotes

Angie is at Tran's apartment, trying to convince him to go to the police and spill the beans on what he knows in relation to the Triad activities. When the two wind up getting into a heated argument.

Angie: Look at you, I mean next time they could kill you!
Tran: ALL RIGHT! I'll get out of town.
Angie: What? And they'll track you down and they'll kill you is that what you want?
Tran: Then why are you still hanging around.
Angie: Because I care about you! I don't want to see you get hurt again, not like this. But there's another way.
Tran: What? What?
Angie: Go to the cops, right, name names. Tell them who you're buying from, who you're selling to.
Tran: You're crazy!
Angie: No
Tran: I'll be dead in a week!
Angie: I know a guy you can trust he can set you up with a new life!
Tran: No!
Angie: You've got information that is valuable to him...
Tran: I can't
Angie: He can pay you big money!
Tran: I CAN'T!
Angie: What about me, can't you do it for me! With the money they pay you, you...We could start a new life.
Tran: There's no such thing. You get one shot at life and I've blown mine by skimming money. IT'S MY FAULT AND I'LL WORK IT OUT!
Angie: All right fine do it your way. You're pathetic. Call me when you've made your mind up.

Angie walks out the door and back to where her vehicle is parked she goes and unlocks the car door and is just about to open the door when she is startled by the sound of a gunshot, which causes her to turn around quickly in a reflex response. She then bolts up the stairs to Trans apartment.

Angie: Tran! Tran! (She stumbles upon Trans lifeless body lying on the kitchen floor with a gunshot the back of his head) Oh!
(She slumps down on the kitchen floor beside the body allowing her head to rest on the door of the dishwasher).

Later on back at the Factory. Angie is with Mac.

Mac: We weren't to know he'd react like that...Completely out of the blue...I can understand how you must be feeling...Where just going to have to start from scratch...Angie, we couldn't have known he'd do that.
Angie: His name was Tran.
Mac: Ok, Angie why don't you just get if off your chest. Tell me what you really think.
Angie: I think you made me push Tran over edge. I don't think it was necessary and I don't like myself very much for doing it. But it's your fault, Mac.
Mac: That's what you think.
Angie: That's what I think.

Later at the hospital with Church and Colette. Church has just bumped into Colette at reception on his way to visit Stone.

Colette: Hi!
Pete: G'day
Colette: Oscars actually been moved to another ward.
Peter: I know, It's not Oscar I'm here to see. How've you been?
Colette: Good, busy.
Pete: How's Jesse?
Colette: Yeah, beautiful as usual.
Peter: You haven't returned my last couple of calls.
Colette: Look, I know, I'm sorry. It’s just been really busy in here. Lots of patients like Oscar.
Pete: You mean lots of shooting casualties.
Colette: Oh hardly, heart attacks, car accidents. I've really been run off my feet, I'm sorry.
Pete: So umm, everything all right then. I'm not misreading things you're just busy.
Colette: Well actually.
Peter: Ah, there's a well.
Colette: Yeah, the business with your friend, it bothered me.
Peter: Him getting shot (laughs) it bothered me too.
Colette: See you can joke about it.
Pete: Well!
Colette: And, you know, working here I thought I'd seen it all too. But getting shot. It's pretty hairy this job you do.
Pete: Yeah, it can be.
Colette: And it's just that, I didn't think about that when we first started seeing each other. That, that you're in this job. How do you explain that?
Peter: Look Colette, don't worry, I can see where this is going, ok. I'm going to just see how my friend is.

-Colette has gone in to visit Oscar while he is in hospital.

Oscar: It’s the ultimate high, it’s a bit addictive, fear, never knowing what you’re walking into.
Colette: So it is dangerous.
Oscar: I’m living proof of that. You never think of the danger really. Colette: Not at all?
Oscar: Who know, there’s something about it. Whenever your doing a job you wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.

-Mac and Brian are in a pub, ‘Boys Light Up’ is playing in the background and an ‘All you can eat’ pasta is on the chalkboard (it’s a really ‘fashionable’ place.)

Brian: Not normally a champagne drinker, but I thought it was a special occasion aahh yeah. So, to us. Here’s to a long and fruitful evening.
Mac: Brian.
Brian: Mmm.
Mac: There’s something I’ve got to say.
Brian: Yes!
Mac: You really are a clown. You’ve always got the suggestive comment, failed innuendo. The come-on line. Do you have any idea how annoying that is? No of course not, grubby comments are just second nature to you. You actually think they are part of your charm. Well here is where they end Brian. I am tired of your coming on to me, I am tired of letting things get to me, letting this just build up….
Brian: See, forthright, that what I like in a woman.
Mac: I am not finished Brian.
Brian: Right, all right.
Mac: If you continue these comments of a sexual nature, however thinly disguised I will get a restraining order on you, plus charges of sexual harassment. Yet however, if we can get through an entire evening, with pleasant conversation, I might perhaps start to have some respect for you. It’s up to you. Cheers.
Brian: Ah yeah. Cheers. (He gulps his champagne)

Mac is sitting beside Stones bedside in the hospital. Stone has just awoken from his gun shooting incident.

Mac: Welcome back.
Oscar: (Whispers) I was shot!
Mac: You're ok. You've had a couple of operations. You'll be fine.
Oscar: A couple?
Mac: We've taken it in turns, sitting here. Your mum and Dad included. Just then Stones Mum, dad and Brother (Brad) enter the room
Mac: He's just woke up.
Shirley: Has he. Oh Cam (kisses him on the forehead)
Oscar: Hey mum.
Shirley: Thank god you're all right.
Charly: You had us worried for a while there boy.
Oscar: Yeah I know.
Brad: Hey Cam. How you going mate.
Oscar: G'day brad.

Oscars sitting talking to Mac in the hospital after his parents have left, leaving him behind a bowl of fruit.
Oscar: And mum's brought me all this fruit. Am I supposed to eat it or what?
Mac: Ah mum's aye. They just do things like that.
Oscar: So what's going on at work?
Mac: No way, where not going to talk about work. You just concentrate on getting better. You right? You need anything?
Oscar: I'm right thanks.

Later at the hospital when Danni and Angie come to visit. Oscar is blowing on the respiratory device, trying to move the balls managing to get the second ball to move part way up the tube, when Danni and Angie walk in on him.

Danni: Tada
Oscar: Hey you brought it (referring to his laptop computer).
Danni: What's a boy without his laptop aye?
Oscar: Incomplete that's what.
Danni: (Sits down on the bed and picks up the respiratory device with the balls) So how's this thing going? (Blows on the device lifting all three balls, while Stone watches on)
Oscar: Oh that! Got that mastered. (Danni pats him on the leg)
Angie: Already. I thought this was meant to be hard? (Danni nods)
Oscar: Yeah, but no worries. I'll be back on deck in no time. So what's going on at work?
Angie: (Shakes her head) Nup.
Danni: Nup. Mac made us promised not to tell.
Oscar: Oh come on, I'll be back there any day.
Danni: Well (Stares over at Angie)
Angie: Oh Danni!
Danni: Angie got in a blue with Mac. Mac got a kick up the ass from internal affairs and Church...
