Well since you clicked on the link I guess you wanna know what my boring life is like..all I gotta say is that you must not have a life cuz you're reading this. By the way, that picture is pretty dang old..but seeing as how I'm too lazy to put up another one, that one's gonna stay for a while...
I'm a freshman at Oregon State University and, for those of you who don't know me, my real name is Trina (actually it's Katrina but none of my friends call me that). Crouching Tiger (Kris) called me StinkiMagie (pronounced Mah-gee) randomly and it stuck..I promise I don't live up to the name although Jukie swears I smell like laundry (too many drugs..)
As for the musical side of me, country music beats out all other types of music. There's no way on earth I could pick out a favorite song but I will have to say that the one song I really like that isn't country would have to be "Where is the Love" by Black Eyed Peas...that is officially "my song."
I have to say that adjusting to the big bad world has been..an adjustment for sure. I'm officially but unofficially moved out of my house in ghetto-ville Springfield and into a small "college town" about 45 minutes from home. Being the loser I am, I love my momma and I go home every weekend to spend time with her and my boyfriend, Josh. So far it hasn't been as scary as I thought it would be - it's a lot of work but mostly because I have to read about 150 pages in various books a week and I'm not much of a reader...especially when it's a subject like the French Revolution, the British economy or the different terminology of art...
Like usual I was involved in the annual musical that our wonderful drama department puts on. This year it was "Cinderella" and I have to say that was the biggest mistake I've ever made. Unlike the past two years, I didn't make a whole lot of new friends because this cast was really "groupie" - everyone stuck to the friends they knew instead of becoming a big group like we've done in the past. Also our casting wasn't as wonderful as I would've hoped mainly because Prince Charming and Cinderella COULDN'T STAND EACH OTHER!! It was pretty funny at first but it was almost embarrassing (I don't mean to sound rude but you'd have to see it to understand)... On stage the two of them couldn't stop hating each other long enough to pretend like they were falling madly in love with each other. Isn't that what acting is all about?? Fisher is hopefully going to make up for such a flop next year - he's making plans to do my absolute favorite musical on earth!! "Fiddler on the Roof"!!
Enough about that... What do I like doing? Let's see: I love to travel but I think the great story about my travels in '98 are getting a little old so I won't keep them up here. I love being in Yearbook (even though my friends hate me talking about it so they no longer consider it a hobby...), I love to spend time with my friends and just do absolutely nothing. My newest "hobby" though would have to be spending time with the love of my life: my Joshua-Tree. :) More about him later...
I have a 13 year old alien brother who loves nothing more than to torment me and make my life a living hell but I guess that's his purpose in life until he grows up...if that ever happens. My mom is awesome and is also my best friend, which makes telling her stuff a lot easier. My dad rocks cuz he's a computer "nerd" like me and he's the one who inspires me(in a way..) to continue looking for a career in computers. I looked into Eastern Oregon University and I think I decided on a Computer Science/Multimedia Studies Major with a possible minor in Web Design but we'll just have to see. Ever since I saw "Shrek" I wanted to do that for a living - create something people will enjoy for a really long time.
About two or three times each year, I make a trip down to the hot state of Arizona to enjoy the real sunshine that Oregon can't supply. I always think that the heat and humidity will kill me but for some odd reason I keep going back... My dad and my very crazy but awesome step-mom, Heidi, live down there and they are kind enough to let their strange daughter stay there for a couple weeks at a time. Isn't that sweet?
From July 13th to July 19th I was in Remote, Oregon for a camp that Josh talked me into going to. It was such a blast! I only knew about four or five people when I first got there but it was really neat because everyone there made me feel like I had known them forever. We did a lot of fun things too. I went repelling, I fell on my butt and bruised myself all over on a mile HIKE down the "Creek of Death" (that thing is evil...), we went to the beach and it was really neat because I got to see something in Josh that I've never seen before. Someone (Casey) got hurt just from rough-housing and we had to call the ambulance. Well Josh was helping the paramedics take Casey up the hill and he realized his calling in life. He's been debating about being a paramedic but he realized just from helping Casey that he wants to have the opportunity to go down to the beach and help someone or just be available to the community if they need him. It was a really neat experience and I might go back there next year but I'm debating it.
What else do you not know about me?? Hm...Well, I own four cats, two dogs, a fish that I swear is invincible and a bamboo plant. My kitties are Bandit, Taz and Patches (she's the devil). My puppies are Kona (a golden retriever) and Sparky (a mini Shetland sheepdog). I'm not sure what my brother named the fish...I'm naming him Terminator cuz I swear that fish won't die!! My brother even neglects to feed it and it still lives... As for my bamboo plant, he's a new addition to the family. Jody (the mom of Josh's best friend) gave me a little bamboo plant and Josh got one too. On the way back to his house we decided to name them so since he loves Rugby, his is Ruck (can't spell) and mine is Scrum. Well I was tired and it was getting late and my brain does weird things when I'm tired so it ends up that the full name for my bamboo plant is Scrum Diddly Umptious. Don't ask...
Now about my weird friends... Jessica is still a great friend but as the years go by, things change a little and we're not as close as we used to be. We only had one class together last year and this year I don't think we'll even see each other because I dropped choir because it conflicted with my schedule. Annie Thumbs granulated and who knows where she's at..probably still being as cute as ever. Susan is my bestest friend who is also granulated. She's going to the UofO next year so I made her promise to come and visit me when she could. I love her to death but she has her blonde moments. :) Crystal is Susan's best friend and through Susan and Publications we became really good friends. Just recently her dad died of cirrohsis (spelling??) of the liver - he wasn't expected to live to graduation but he did. Sadly he was only 45 years old... She's a wonderful girl though and she's always been the strong one - something I admire her for. Troy is my new friend thanks to my somewhat new boyfriend Josh and because of Troy, his girlfriend Kathlene is also a new friend. My world just keeps expanding. :)
Ok now for the "juicy" part of my life. Where to begin... I met Josh through choir - he was in the same choir as me my sophomore year and then second semester this past year. Well we didn't really become close friends until the end of March-ish. To make a long story short, it was around Prom time and it ended up that just as I was about to ask him to Prom, he beat me to the punch and asked me first (to which I responded with a squeak...). A couple days later (April 18) he asked me out. Well I found out a couple days later that he had been waiting for the 18th for a reason: Prom was exactly a month later and he wanted to celebrate our one-month anniversary on Prom. :) He's a sweetie like that - he thinks of little cute things like that. Well here we are a little over 3 months later and I couldn't be more in love and more happy with the way things are. He was planning on leaving in October to go into the army but partly for him and partly for me, he decided to leave next year around August when I'm headed off to college for four years. Just the other day, my sweetie bought me a promise ring that's really beautiful. Anyway, he's been the best thing to happen to me. I could go on forever about him but I won't because I'm sure if you've read this far, you're tired of reading about my boring life. I hope you "enjoyed" my little blurb of a biography.
