A Daisy
Hi! My name is Amy Genta. I am very excited about completing my Master's degree in Education this summer. I completed my BS in biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997. During the summer of 1997, I began working on my teaching certification at Lindenwood University. I initially completed my secondary education certification and then finished my middle school certification. I only had two elective courses in my program. Last summer I took an introductory web page class at Lindenwood. I really enjoyed the class, and I have been able to use the information that I learned to design web pages for my students to use. Lindenwood was offering the advanced class this summer at a bad time, so after getting several policy exemptions signed, I was given permission to take this course. I am looking forward to making more web pages.

I have had several jobs during the last few years. While attending Mizzou, I spent one summer working in Florida at the Appalachicola National Forest doing research on barking treefrogs. I spent the next summer working in Columbia, Missouri. I designed and implemented a research project on gray treefrogs. During the next summer, I returned to Florida to work at Busch Gardens. I was involved in the Birds of Prey shows. Since I have been at Lindenwood, I have worked as a teller at a bank, as a data entry clerk for a temporary agency, and as a substitute teacher. Next year will be my third year teaching 6th grade geography and science at St. Joseph School in Cottleville.

I am married, and I live in O'Fallon, Missouri . I have three siblings, and my husband has two siblings. Both of our families live very close to us. My husband and I don't have any children yet, but we have a cockatiel named Loomus P. Weschester. He is one and a half years old today. Loomus really enjoys typing on the computer keyboard, but I have to put him away when I work on web pages. With one false step he can very easily ruin an entire web page.

I am also looking forward to having time to do some things around the house this summer. My husband is working on finishing our basement, and he has just done some landscaping. I am supposed to be making curtains, finishing cross stitches, making a quilt, and making some stained glass windows. I'm sure that I am being over ambitious. The summer always passes faster than it should.
