Pastoral Care at St. John’s St. John’s church is committed to providing a context for personal and spiritual growth at all stages in life’s journey.
Worship On Sunday mornings there are two services. The first service takes place at 8:30 a.m. in the form of a said Eucharist. The second service, takes place at 10:30 a.m. and features a choral Eucharist along with Nursery and Church School programs. Aside from the traditional Sunday services, St. John's also offers a midweek Eucharist at 7:00 pm on Wednesday Evenings, as well as special services during Advent, Lent, Holy Week, Easter and Christmas. By participating in the Chancel Guild, becoming a Lay Administrant, Sidesperson, Reader or Server; parishioners of all ages have opportunity to actively contribute to worship. Baptism Baptism is performed six times a year. Preparation sessions are required for those bringing children for baptism or who are seeking baptism for themselves. Weddings Those who wish to be married at St. John's are requested to give at least two months notice and arrange to meet with one of the clergy before making any firm plans. Ministry to the Sick For those who are too ill to attend worship services, our clergy would be happy to set up a time at which they can come and administer communion. Our clergy also appreciate being notified whenever a parishioner is in the hospital or seriously ill at home, so that they may visit and offer support. Funerals Family or friends of one who has recently died are encouraged to contact the clergy as soon as possible. This will enable them to provide grief support and if desired make funeral arrangements. Please remember that it is appropriate for a Christian funeral to take place in the church. Choir Music plays an important role in the life of St. John's. The choir, comprised of men and women, provide musical leadership at the 10:30 am service on Sundays and other special occasions.
