As we sadly say good bye to Father Bob, who has been a wonderful parish priest, we say welcome and hello to Father Bruce Krause, CM

Father Bruce Krause, CM, has begun his duties as the new pastor of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.  He spent the summer perfecting his spanish in our Vincentian parish of Puerto Armuelles, Republic of Panama, and then took a vacation.  Father Bruce was born in Mobile, Al. and grew up in West Point, Ga., where he was a member of our sister parish, Holy Family, Lanett, Al.  He completed his primary and secondary education in "the Valley," and then went to Auburn University.  After graduation he began his studies for the priesthood with the Vincentians, and was ordained in 1982.  He has served at Immaculate Conception Church, Germantown (Philadelphia), PA, and St. Michael's, Auburn, AL (where his mother, a noted author, now lives).  After graduate studies at Emory University, where he earned a doctorate in Rural Ministry, he has worked on the Alabama Mission with residence in Wedowee and in Opelika.  Since November, 1998, he has been priest-in-charge at St. Mark's, Ashland. He will continue in that office while he is pastor here.  Besides his service here, he is the Spiritual Director for the Southeastern region of the St. Vincent dePaul Society.
