MASS INTENTIONS

Please remember to offer Masses for your special intentions; especially your departed loved ones.  Also, please pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in Canada.

We need to be close to Jesus Christ in his Eucharistic Sacrifice.

If you would like a Mass said, please see Father Joe.

Did you know the Rosary is a powerful weapon used against the devil?  It is also a way to walk with Jesus and Mary while meditating on His life proclaimed in the Gospels.

During Lent, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we meditate on the Sorrowful Mysteries. to journey with Jesus to his crucifixion.

On Thursday, we meditate on the Mysteries of Light to remind us Jesus is with us today.

You are invited to join us in praying the Rosary, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:40 a.m.

CHRISM MASS

During the Chrism Mass held before Holy Thursday the Bishop blesses the oil of Catechumens, the oil of the sick, and the oil of Chrism.

We use the first for adult catechumens and infants, the second for anointing the sick and sacred oil of chrism for baptism, confirmation, the ordination of priests, and the consecration of altars.

Since the Bishop is the only minister in the diocese who may consecrate chrism, this Mass highlights his ministry and our union with him. He will be symbolically present in the chrism which the priests and deacons will use.

I am therefore asking if there are any people of the Parish who would be interested in representing our Parish at this beautiful ceremony and bring back these sacred oils to use.

Please call Darlene at 822-4814 if you are planning to attend.  Thank you.

Catholic saints are holy people and human people who lived extraordinary lives. Each saint the Church honors responded to God's invitation to use his or her unique gifts. God calls each one of us to be a saint.

March 25  Annunciation of the Lord

The feast of the Annunciation goes back to the fourth or fifth century. Its central focus is the Incarnation: God has become one of us. From all eternity God had decided that the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity should become human. Now, as Luke 1:26-38 tells us, the decision is being realized. The God-Man embraces all humanity, indeed all creation, to bring it to God in one great act of love. Because human beings have rejected God, Jesus will accept a life of suffering and an agonizing death: “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13).
