LENT PREPARATION

From the smudges of ashes on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 25 this year), through the meatless Fridays and up to the Holy Week observances, Lent is a prime time for Catholics to reconnect with their faith. To prepare for Lent, check out  www.americancatholic.org for a wealth of ideas!!

LET US PRAY

We offer prayers today for all of our sick.  Please remember to pray for Jordan Myers,  Kendra Lea, Gerry Wood, Leah Beattie, Henry Knaggs, Anne Halabicki, Elsie Hink, Janette Warnock, Marcel Knockaert, and Liz Burroughs.

Please pray for our Good Shepherd, Archbishop Emilius Goulet, Bishop of the Archdiocese of St. Boniface.

MASS INTENTIONS

Please remember to offer Masses for your special intentions; especially your departed loved ones.  Also, please pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in Canada.

We need to be close to Jesus Christ in his Eucharistic Sacrifice.

If you would like a Mass said, please see Father Joe.

Did you know that Pope John Paul II declared this year as the year of the Rosary?

To pray the Rosary is a way to be with Jesus and Mary.  We are meditating on their life from the Gospels.

You are invited to join us Tuesday-Friday 8:40 a.m. all year to recite the Rosary.

Countdown to Lent

Ash Wednesday is coming! Lent begins Feb. 25.

Lenten Season

A penitent season of six Sundays and 40 weekdays that prepares for the high feast of Easter.  Historically it is the step-by-step preparation for catechumens (those being initiated into the Church) for the paschal mystery.  Thus, it is also a renewal of the faithful’s baptismal commitment to the shared life with the risen Christ.

Lent is a time for Penance, for Almsgiving & Prayer, for working to change attitudes.

Ash Wednesday

First Sunday through Fifth Sunday

Passion Sunday (Palm Sunday)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday of Holy Week

The ashes that will be used to mark the beginning of Lent come from branches blessed and distributed last Passion Sunday.  We’d like to ask you to bring the branches taken home last year to the Church, so that they may be burned and used in the Ash Wednesday liturgy.  Thanks.

Catholic saints are holy people and human people

who lived extraordinary lives. Each saint the Church honors responded to God's invitation to use his or her unique gifts. God calls each one of us to be a saint.

Other fun activities will be planned by youth as well.

Please try to join us. You wouldn't want to miss out on the fun!
