Game Recap

HIGHLIGHTS:
The Hammerheads didn't play as bad as it may seem looking at the outcome of the game. They dominated on the ice the whole game but their domination was not reflected on the scoreboard. The puck just didn't want to land in the Sting's net. Even when it did a couple of times the refs thought it was too many and took one goal away. Nevertheless, the main reason the Hammerheads were held to only one accountable goal was the Sting's goalie who has stopped all other 37 shots. As for Mike Chicas, it was his first loss of the season that ended his 11 game unbeaten streak (1 game short of the club's record).

On the other hand, it was nice to see rejuvenated Sting team that can now equally compete with the Hammerheads and the Usual Suspects (as you may remember, last week the Sting defeated the Usual Suspects 4:1 as well). Unfortunately, it happened too late in the season when the whole intrigue of the winter tournament has basically evaporated. No doubt the Sting will try their best to get into the playoffs but with only 5 games remaining it will be very difficult to accomplish.

Noticeable streaks:
Craig Wallace has kept his point streak alive. He has 21 points (10+11) in the last 8 games. At the same time, his assist streak reached 7 games (11 assists) which brings him to a tie for a club record with Ken Anstey who missed this game due to contract negotiations for a next season.
Chris Juwono scored the only goal for the Hammerheads. This was his 5th game when he recorded at least a point. He has 12 points (6+6) since then.
