Game Recap

HIGHLIGHTS:
The game was played in two periods of 22,5 minutes each to compensate for the bad ice conditions on one side of the Belmont ice rink.

The Hammerheads have clinched the division title and the Usual Suspects have secured the second and final playoff seed a few weeks ago. This game was a final meeting of the season between the two rivals before they hit the ice against each other again in the playoffs. The victory in this game could be a slight momentum factor in the playoffs. Unfortunately for the Hammerheads their chances to win were very slim due to the absence of their regular goalie Mike Chicas.

The Hammerheads were able to score first and after 10 minutes of play it was only 1:1. But then the Suspects mounted some pressure and put a game away by the end of the first period. The only positive outcome of this game for the Hammerheads is Ryan Limaye's hat trick that broke his 2-game goalless streak. His scoring touch will be very much needed during the playoffs.

Noticeable streaks:
     - Craig Wallace - his point scoring streak has stopped at 11 games.
     - Patrick Chang and Brent Jenkins are on the 4 game point scoring streaks. Patrick has 6 points (1+5=6) and Brent has 10 points (4+6=10) in their last four outings.
