June 18, 2004 - Well, it's been a few weeks with no posts, that's because I have nothing to post. I have been fidling with my linux OS lately and stumbled into a quite interesting program. WINE is a command line tool used in linux to open windows based programs on your windows partition. what I noticed is that it can only open a few applications since its still under development. Maybe in the future, development tools like flash and photoshop will run under WINE in linux. I tried WINE with mirc and it worked ok. I thought it will have a problem connecting to the internet or something but it turned out fine.......Now I just have a few rantings (hehe), Our jeepney fare here in Iloilo has increased and it sucks. I live quite far from the city and the fare has now sky rocketed. It's ok if they only add like 1 peso or a few centavos increase but these sh$head f&#ks increase like theres no tomorrow. What is going on here? The public transport has become a multimillion industry all of a sudden. Now i'm thinking of getting a professional drivers license and become a driver myself. Cause I think they can beat the standard office clerk wage. hell, they can even beat the public school teacher wage. Let's be drivers, it's the new nursing hehe.

June 6, 2004 - Last night (june 5) was the gig night. Our set was ok. we had some glitches but overall it was fine. We slammed our a#$es off  anyway hehe. The other bands were great too. We really have good bands here in iloilo. It's nice to see different bands now playing different kinds of music not like 3 or 4 years ago where almost everyone played slapshock cover songs including my band that time hehe. Last night, There was a trash metal band, a punk band, a prog rock type band, an old school band, a nu metal band, a funk metal type band with synth (which was rockin), a funk band, and an industrial metal band. Thank god there wasn't a showband in sight. they finally got the idea that battles are not the proper place for them. overall it was a pretty fun night, moshpit and all. and of course the requisite drinking.

May 30, 2004 - This day, I attended an orientation seminar on this company I'm applying a job for. It was a whole day seminar and it was really tiring. It was weird coz all the people who attended were already hired employees except the two of us who were still just applicants. We felt like outsiders not knowing anyone in there. And then there was this reporting thing and I was forced to be the reporter of my group. I'm not the public speaker type you know. The thought of speaking in front of a lot of people scares the shit out of me. I couldn't do anything since they won't do it so I did. I was waiting for my turn with cold sweat in the palm of my hands, and then it came. the time for me to get up front and make a fool of myself. I was really shaking, my voice sounds like it was going through a tremolo effect. But luckily it was ok. the facilitator was kind enough not to make comments on my bad public speaking skills and I think the people listened. I was thankful I got through that alive. Getting in front of a crowd with a guitar in my shoulder doesn't scare me but speaking and reporting is a different story. Speaking of guitars, I'm getting excited for our gig on June 5. its a battle of the bands competition that we'll be joining again and It will be fun just to play (even if we don't win) and hang out with rocker friends and rocker chicks (hehe).

May 27, 2004 - Nothing much to say here so I'll just post my current desktop instead

Yup, It's Andrea of The Corrs

May 23, 2004 - What's happening with my life??? l spent the last 2 todays mostly drinking heheheh. Last night at my friends house and then yesterday at the beach with my friend and his classmates. Well, its nice to feel the sea breeze at the beach again, we are lucky enough living here in Iloilo because the beach is just a few minutes drive from the city......hmmm, I miss hanging out in  sm city. It's been 2 days since I went there hehehe. I miss seeing my mallrat crush there (this girl who seems to be there everyday, I think, since I see her everytime I go there).

May 20, 2004 - Filipinos are really making waves in the world now. There's this singer in American Idol which local news claim to be Filipina and at the other end of the spectrum there's this guy Sef Gonzales who was just convicted of killing his parents in Australia. Going back to the American Idol bit, I really like that William Hung guy (though I hate the song livin la vida loca), you know that chinese looking guy who couldn't sing a tune. This man is a living proof that untalented and unattractive  people can make it big time and be successful. Although I also think he's just very lucky but with that is a lot of guts. Okay, lots of untalented people are successful, look at all those manufactured pop stars but William Hung doesn't even look that good. I just hope he would have his own songs even really sucky ones, just don't sing livin la vida or any of those pop tunes that have been popularized already. Another celebrity I give my hands down is Eddie Gil. This guy is the avatar of coolness hehehe. You just can't grasp  what he is really about, is he really that dumb?? How come he has all that money. Besides he's funnier than all of abs-cbn's comedians combined,  plus he has this political will and claims to help people with his isang bansa group or whatever. Go Eddie Gil and William Hung, This is the future of entertainment baby.

May 19, 2004 - This day, I went to my friends house to have some cd burned. It's for the music that we are about to play in our band. We're trying to put up another project band. I'll probably play guitar or bass in this one because we don't have our final lineup yet. The music will still be the true and tested loud, heavy, nonsense shouting, downtuned, fast, moshpit( I hope ) type of crap we've been playing since our college days. In that burned cd are songs by Soulfly, Fear Factory, Devildriver ( the new band of coal chamber frontman dez), Slipknot, Mushroomhead and Sepultura. I'm now liking Sepultura, they really have nice tribal grooves. I never listened to them when they were in their peak of popularity cause I thought they were too heavy. but now I see that theyre not like "death metal". not that death metal is'nt good. Sepultura has a very unique type of sound, it's like this really simple heavy metal music with roaring vocals and beats that you can probably dance to. not the 4 on the floor type of beat like in industrial metal but groovy tribal fire dance type of beat. The instruments are also very interesting, they use these brazilian type percussions and drums that adds to the total heaviness of the songs. This blog is sounding like a past albums review now (hehe). anyway, that's it I guess. REFUSE, RESIST!!!.......by the way thanks to Bel of greencapsule.org for putting a link to my site. check her site out.

May 16, 2004 - Finished incorporating the tagboard into the site now. please feel free to put something. Still no job yet hehe. My bandmates txted me  to jam at our drummers house, so we did. felt good to play after a while. We jammed our usual cover songs which is by Ill Nino and Soulfly. We have a few originals but they quite suck hehe. We'll be making new ones I hope now that we have a place to jam and stuff. We are planning to join a battle again and we are thinking of playing the heaviest songs possible, enough with the commercial stuff hehe. Although my band plays those heavy stuff I am now currently trying to learn bossanova style guitar playing. Last week I tried to look for tabs of the song Girl From Ipanema, and I discovered how hard this style is. the chords they use are really far out. have you ever heard of the chord Bb13? I did'nt know chords went as far as 13. anyway, I learned the song in a few days with the help of a chord chart. nice...

May 11, 2004 - Yup, I voted yesterday. I gave the vote to GMA just to add a vote against FPJ. In the local scene, I voted mostly for relatives of my mother. I'm Still hoping that someone other than FPJ wins. I don't really care who wins as long as it's not the king. I voted for 7 senators. no one from the showbiz industry got my vote since they are sure win anyway. I am noticing now in the tv that most of the candidates I voted for are not wining. I can't believe people are still voting for those who have been there for decades already and not giving the new ones a chance. In the next 20 years well still have the same senators that we are having right now. and as for our country...it will still be where we are right now.

May 7, 2004 - Although I am not a really good web designer (yet). I want to give a tip to those who are just starting making web pages. Here's the secret to professional looking sites. Use Arial, Verdana, and Tahoma fonts. these are what most web sites use.

May 6, 2004 - Well...since I have already quit my job, I used my time to update this site. as you see, its totally different. I have been working on this new layout for quite some time now, I just did not have the time to finish it since i had a job......well election is coming closer and I just realized I had no idea who I'm going to vote. especially in our local gov't (mayor, councilor, etc) well I know who to vote for mayor but the rest...I have no clue who they are. maybe I'll just leave it blank hehehe. Well that's it, hope you like the new layout.

May 1, 2004 - I have decided to quit my job. back to being jobless. having no work sucks, but it surely beats working at my last workplace. I hope to get a nice job soon. even with just low salary. I just want a job where I can learn stuff and develop skills. back to scanning classified adds and passing out resume's. It's a bit hard to find work in the IT field here in Iloilo but I am not hopeless. My friend is inviting me on his bussiness venture but we both have a tiny problem. WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY hehehe. starting a bussiness is not that hard if you only have the capital. well......
