About our family:
My husband and I met on May 31, 1991 and from that day till now, we have enjoyed listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd together. We were married on December 20, 1993. We were blessed with a beautiful baby girl on November 25, 2000. We named her after the late Cassie Gaines. In this section of these pages we have included photos of ourselves and of our daughter! I hope that everyone enjoys Lynyrd Skynyrd as much as our family!
About Amanda:
My name is Amanda and I am the main writer on this page. Before I met my now husband I had no idea who Lynyrd Skynyrd was and is, but my husband introduced me to the band and I immediately started enjoying their music and have since then! I remember my first Skynyrd concert at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta Georgia, this was my first concert ever. My husband sat on the lawn and watched the show. When Skynyrd took the stage you could not hear yourself think it was so loud. The crowd went wild. They started the set with "Workin For MCA". My husband stood beside me and we held hands or danced and sung along with the band. When the end was near, My husband told me that the best part was coming up! The singing of the song "Freebird", How can anyone truly say that they do not love that song? I knew from that moment on, I was officially a Skynyrd Fan!! My favorite songs are "Freebird", "Was I Right or Wrong", "Georgia Peaches", and the new "Voodoo Lake".
About Steven:
Steven is my husband and he has listened to Skynyrd alot longer than me. He introduced me to the music of Skynyrd! He has listened to Skynyrd with his dad growing up and his mom growing up and anyone else in his family that listened to the band. I believe that he said that his dad had tickets to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta in 1977 but I can not be sure! His all time favorite songs by the band are "Simple Man" and "Freebird"! He also attended a concert while we were dating that my parents would not let me go to and that was the 1991 concert also held at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta Georgia!
About Kassie:
Our daughter is Kassie Pearl, she was born on November 25, 2000. She weighed 6 pounds and 5 ounces at birth. She is named for the late Cassie Gaines of Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Pearl comes from Amanda's mother and grandmother! At this time, she is currently 2 and half years old, and today on May 21, 2003 she is going to get to meet some of the members of Skynyrd at the Wal-Mart in Lawrenceville, GA. We are going to their album signing and hopefully I can get them to sign her baby book!!
