Feb. 18 - "Undone" (aka The Sweater Song) by Weezer
Feb. 25 - "In the End" by Linkin Park - This song shows how well rap and metal can go together. Personally I hate rap, all the gansta style stuff. I'm kind of sick of them "singing" about killing cops, getting their stash, or just problems with their girl. But this stuff is better. For one thing, musically, it's more than pure rhythm. The lyrics are actually meaningful, and the song serves as the out-pouring of the singer's emotions.
Mar. 4 - "Paint it Black" by Gob - This was a cover that Gob did for the "Stir of Echoes" soundtrack. It's of a Rolling Stones song, but it's ten times better. The tune is kind of haunting.
Mar. 18 - "Crazytrain" by Ozzy Osbourne - Now, I'm not a big Ozzy fan, but you have to respect a song as classic as "Crazytrain." And if you ever try playing it, you'll appreciate it that much more.
Apr. 19 - "Echoes" by Pink Floyd - I just bought Pink Floyd's Echoes album, the collection of their best songs. It is incredible; it's one of the best albums I have ever listened to, if not the best. They are real masters. This song is very surreal; listening to it, you can just sit back and drift off to another world. I really recommend you listen to the real version though (the midi can only convey so much).
May 13 - "Surf Wax America" by Weezer - I had to pick this song since summer's just about here, and I love the song's chorus: "You take your car to work, Josh takes his bike."
July 18 - "Time" by Pink Floyd - This is the first Pink Floyd song that I fell in love with. It's a real masterpiece. It's just too bad that they had to include the alarm clock intro (I realize that it has profound significance in the song, but it's just so annoying!!).
July 23 - "Burndt Jamb" by Weezer - This is the best song on the Maladroit album. It's original and it's got a really good overall feel to it. Also, I had to pick Weezer since I'M GOING TO SEE THEM IN CONCERT TONIGHT!!!! I'M SO STOKED!!!
