University of Pennsylvania

So this is where I'm going next year. I have to warn you, we took a lot of pictures. (thanks go to Dad for the mad photography skills)

I figured I should start with a map. It's pretty hard to make sense of it, though.

This is the Green, the center of most of the academic buildings. From what I've seen, you can always find it covered with people (as long as it's not before noon and they're awake).

This is the fine arts library, one of the coolest looking buildings on campus.

The interior of the fine arts library.

Gargoyles on the side of the fine arts library.

The central walkway through the campus, Locust Walk.

A little cafe area on Locust Walk.

Perelmann Quad, which houses academic buildings as well as Houston Hall, the student union (right side of pic).

One of Penn's prominent sculptures.

A random building on Locust.

Annenberg School of Communications.

Ben Franklin in front of College Hall.

Me with Benny himself.

The library.

This pretzel store has the best pretzels. You can get sour cream and onion or parmesan or almond pretzels, incentive enough to come visit me.

A view of the downtown, about 20 blocks from campus.

College Hall again.

Locust Walk.

Mom, Tim, and me in front of the bookstore.

The bookstore. This place is huge; it's two stories packed with books and anything that's big enough to bear the Penn name.

Locust Walk again.

A view of the Quad, where I'll most likely be living. (doesn't it look kind of like the Kremlin?)

A walkway off of Locust Walk.

The ever-present Benjamin Franklin.

I know I may seem like an overly obsessive grandparent, but I hope you enjoyed the pictures, and if not that you'll at least say you did so I don't feel like this was a waste of time and that I really should have done my homework instead.
