In July 2002, Chris, Daniel and Wade set aside a couple of days for cruising around up north and checking out the sights. Here are the photos from the road trip.


We were held up for 15 minutes at Innisfail because of this oversize load. Every resident of the town was out on the street watching it drive by, like they'd never seen a truck before.

Over three days we found quite a lot of amusing material throughout Cairns and the surrounding area:

St. Christopher's Catholic Church:		Daniel and Wade challenged each other to a race up this inner-city-carpark staircase:
Even though he won the race, Wade's supremacy couldn't stop us from making him pose under this street sign!
Some lookouts:

Wade took driving lessons from Jesus, so we were able to simply float across the river.
		Onn the other side of the river we found a place called Cow Bay where Chris wrote "Stop It Boys" in the sand. The problem with this photo, however, is that the topless sunbathers were cut off just to the right. Oh well, you can't win 'em all.
We stayed in a cabin at Atherton after our two nights in Cairns:

We didn't have a very good run of luck in Atherton.
Wade wanted some cash but got his PIN wrong three times in a row - and this ATM kept his card!		And somehow the car door got stuck on the pavement:

So there you go, that's what we got up to on our drive up north.
