Chapter One

I sat in the red plush seats next to my best friend Dawn. Her eyes looked straight ahead to the dimly lit stage. I smiled at her, watching her eyes dart back and forth as the lads danced. I turned my head to watch what she was watching. The song, "If Ya Gettin' Down" ended and Dawn and I jumped up and clapped and cheered.
"Whoo! Shake it Scotty!" Dawn yelled. Scott, in response, turned around and shook his behind at her. "Ow ow!" she yelled back.
"Abs, show me your abs!" I yelled, cupping my hand over my mouth. He playfully started to pull up his shirt but suddenly stopped and pulled it down again.
"Later," he flirtatiosly said into his mic. The other lads all responded with an "Ooooooh!" Dawn and I laughed and sat again. The lads all wiped their faces with the white towels laying around the stage for them. Abs chose to leave his on his head.
"Thank you, ladies," Chris, their manager said, grabbing a mic from atop one of the speakers. "but we need to finish up for tonight, so if you don't mind, please step out and the lads'll be with you shortly." Dawn and I sighed in unison but got up.
"Bye Dawn!" Scott sang into his mic,
"See ya lata Whitney," Abs replied in his mic. We laughed and walked out the double doors leading into the parking lot.
"What was that all about?" Dawn asked after the doors had shut behind us.
"It means that had to preform "Two Sides" and they didn't want a jealous girlfriend brawl onstage the night before the concert." I replied. Dawn stepped up to the door and placed her ear against it.
   "You're right!" she said, astonished.
"And you doubt me, why?" I asked as I sat down on the black asphalt, leaning against the hard brick exterior of the building. "I've been dating a popstar for...how long now? 6 months?" Dawn began pacing back and forth.
   "That...that
girl Chris paired Scott up with. Did you see her?" Dawn asked, still pacing. "I swear, she gets way too into it. It's like she acts like she doesn't know he has a girlfirend, which I know she knows because - "
"Dawn," I calmy said, stopping her. She stopped pacing and looked at me. "Believe it or not, that's her job. I know it sucks, Abs' dancer gets to me too. You have to understand, Sean is the only one interested in the dancers. Although, now that I think about it, Ritchie seems to enjoy it as well." Dawn ran her fingers through her dark brown, almost black hair and sat next to me.
"I guess you're right," she sighed.
"I always am," I smiled. She rolled her eyes. "What?" I asked. Before she could answer, the doors opened and out popped Scott.
"Scott!" Dawn squealed. He gave her a smile and held out his hand. She grabbed it and he pulled her up. He leaned down and embraced her in a long kiss. I looked away, sick of seeing this daily.
"Stop worrying about the dancers," he simply said when they let go. Dawn stood open mouthed.
"What? I mean, how did you...?" Dawn struggled to ask.
"Dawn," he said, slipping his arms around her waist and clasping his fingers on her back. "don't worry about them." Dawn blushed and hugged Scott. Abs burst out the door, almost running into Scott and Dawn.
"Hey, babe," Abs said as he saw me. I stood and kissed him.
"I've been waiting all day for that," I told him.
"Aww, c'mon, knock it off!" Dawn laughed. I shook my head, smiled, and wrapped my arms around Abs.
"So what now?" Scott asked from behind me.
"Ah, let's just get out of here, mate," Abs shrugged. Scott nodded and we began heading for the parking lot.
