Chapter Six

After my discussion with Scott I went back to my room. Abs was sleeping so I crawled in next to him. I just watched him breathing steadily and my heart ached to know that a part of him didn't trust me as much as I wanted him to. I didn't realize I was crying until I felt the tears stream down my face. I wiped them away and turned back around and focused on falling asleep.

                               ~*~*~*~*~
I woke up in the morning hoping Abs was there. I reached over and felt nothing but the bedsheets. I cursed myself for sleeping in. I forced myself to get up, take a shower, and get dressed. I pulled on my jeans that I had worn the day before. I felt something in my back pocket and rummaged around for it. I pulled out Simon's buisness card which held his number on the back. I pulled on my shoes and headed out the door. I passed Dawn's door and concidered knocking and seeing if she was there, but chose not to. I walked out to the lounge and sat in the same chair that I sat in the previous night. I pulled out my mobile from my purse and dialed the number on the back of the card. Simon answered soon after.
"Simon? Hey, this is Whitney," I told him.
   "Oh, hello!" he greeted me.
"I came across your buisness card and thought I'd give you a call like you wanted me to do." I explained.
"Oh, that's great. Do you want to have breakfast?" he asked.
"Sure," I smiled. We decided on where to meet and said our goodbyes.

I walked into the warm restaraunt and looked around for Simon. I spotted him and walked over to the booth he was sitting at and slid in across from him. He smiled hello and we ordered from the menu.
"So how have you been?" he asked me.
"Pretty good." I smiled. "I love living here."
"How are the lads?" he wondered.
"Great," I said, my mind drifting off to Abs. "Dawn and Scott couldn't be happier and Abs and I are...doing good."
   "That's good." Simon said.
"So what are you doing here in London, Simon?" I asked.
"Well, I had a new client to check out, and luckily, I ran into you. I've been meaning to get ahold of you, but never could." he explained.
"Why did you need to get ahold of me?" I questioned.
"Well...to be honest, I miss you at the label." Simon said, taking a sip of his coffee. I wrapped my hands around mine. "You had incredible talent. Do you miss it?" My mind flashed back to the conversation I had had with Dawn just the day before.
"Well, yeah. But, you know why I left." I said.
"Yeah, that's a little glich." Simon sighed.
"Are you looking to re-signing Dawn and I?" I wondered.
"Not exactly," Simon replied. I looked at him. "I'm looking to re-sign you."
"Me? Souly me?" I asked. Simon nodded. "Why not Dawn?"
"Dawn was great, I know that," he started. "But we are looking for a solo act. I know you can fill in that slot. I can see you have the passion for your music." I sat there, staring into my cup of coffee. "The only thing that would complicate this, is that we need to centered in the U.S. I am going to be here for about a week and a half."
"Oh," was all I could manage to say.
"I need a decision before then." he explained. The waitress brought us our food and set it in front of us.
"You know what?" I said. "I'm not so hungry anymore." I glanced at my watch as an excuse to leave. "I have to meet Dawn in 15 minutes," I lied, grabbing my things.
"I don't think it'd be best to mention this to her." Simon said. I nodded a bit.
"Bye," I said as I got up and headed out the door.
