Chapter Seven
Whitney: Over the next month so I went out with Ritchie a couple more time. Nikki had gone out with Abs once and had only talked to him on the phone once or twice for a short period of time. I was beginning to think she didn't like him. Whenever I'd ask her about it she would say everything was okay. I didn't know what to think. "Whitney!" Nikki called to me, interrupting my thoughts.
"What?" I yelled back, muting the TV.
"I'm going out, I'll be back later," she said, entering the room.
"You goin' with Abs?" I asked.
"Somethin' like that," she mumbled, grabbing her keys from her purse. Before I could ask her what she meant, she bounded down the stairs and out the door.

Abs: I felt like a stalker. I was sitting in my car a few houses down from Whitney and Nikki's flat. I would have just walked straight up there, but I saw Nik's car in the driveway. I needed her not to be there. I had been sitting there for an hour almost and I was getting figety and bored. Right before I was about to give up, my mobile rang. "Allo?" I answered it.
"Abs, hey," Ritchie greeted me, "Where are ya, mate?"
"Um, ya know, here and there," I answered. I saw Nikki leave the house and head toward her car.
"You with Nikki or somethin'?" he asked.
"Something like that," I said as Nikki drove away. "Listen, Rich, I have to go, bye." I flipped it shut and tossed it in the passenger side seat. I slowly drove toward the house and pulled into the driveway. I took a deep breath as I turned off my car and got out. I waited a minute on the front porch and then rang the doorbell. Then I exhaled.

Whitney: Nikki probably locked herself out of the house, I thought to myself as I truged downstairs to answer the door. I unlocked it and pulled it over. Instead of Nikki, Abs was standing there. "Hey," he said.
"Hi," I smiled. "Are you looking for Nikki? She just left. I can call her, I'm sure her mobile is on." I quickly said.
"No, no, that's alright," Abs said after I stopped. "I...um, kind of wanted to talk to you."
"Oh," I said, feeling a little stupid. "Come in." He walked inside and I led him upstairs. "So what do you want to talk about?" I asked as I sat next to him on the couch.
"Well, um," he kinda laughed. "I'm kind of put on the spotlight here. I...To be honest, I haven't stopped thinking about you since the date." I was suprised. "Nikki and I...we're just not compatible. I like you. A lot." I was speechless for a second.
"Well," I finally said, "a little suprising, isn't it?" Abs smiled a bit. "To be honest as well, I feel...the same. I just thought you liked Nikki. That's why I didn't act on it."
"What about now?" Abs smiled. I shrugged. He leaned in and kissed me.
Finally.
