Chapter Four

The next day was the first day in quite a while when I had absolutely nothing planned. I had a few scripts I wanted to read over, but other than that, my schedual was blank.
I rolled over in my queen sized bed. I tended to stay to the right side of the four poster bed, I was used to sleeping next to someone. I forced myself to get up and walked into the kitchen. I flipped on the coffee pot and sat at the kitchen table. My black laptop laid alone on the cool wood of the table and I reached for it. I hardly had time anymore to even open my laptop, not to mention access anything on it.
I slowly opened it and adjusted it so I could read the screen. I double clicked my internet browser. As it was loading I got up and poured myself a cup of comforting coffee. I returned to my seat at the table. Where to start? The internet was such a vast, open place, I had no clue what to look up. I clicked on search and typed in the first name that popped into my head - Ritchie Neville. Over 275 fan pages popped up and I even had a choice to have an advanced search for even more pages. I scrolled down, reading the summaries. Most of them started with : "Ritchie Neville was born on August 23rd...". One page caught my eye. It was called "Cherished Hearts". The summary read: "Ritchie Neville and actress Whitney Phillips met when..." I clicked the link.
A funky purple background splashed the page, accompanied by yellow text. It said "Cherished Hearts" at the top of the page. Under the text was a picture of Ritchie and me. His arms were wrapped around me and my head rested on his chest. I smiled a bit. The page talked about when we met, with loads of infor on Ritchie and me. At the very bottom of the page it said this:
"As of this date, August 27th, 200, Cherished Hearts is closing its doors. The rumours about Ritchie and Whitney splitting have been confirmed here first. That's right, the cutest faous couple and the whole reason Cherished Hearts started, are through. It's a bit disappointent, I was looking forward to having a wedding layout and everything! Don't know the story of the sudden split? Apparently-" The phone rand and my eyes left the computer screen. I got up, took a few steps and picked up my cordless.
   "Hello?"
"Hi Whitney," an english voice greeted me.
"Hi Ritchie," I smiled, taking a quick glance at my laptop on the table.
"Look, I've been thinking about you all night," Ritchie informed me. A wave of warmth flowed through my body. "What if we went out for coffee or something and start over fresh. Forget last night ever happened."
"Yes," I replied, a bit quick. "I...I mean, that would be great. Want to meet at Coffee Beanz around 11?"
"That's good for me. Sounds like a plan," Ritchie replied. I grinned.
"Great. See you there," I told him. We said goodbye and hung up. I pushed in my chair at the table and glanced at the last line on the site I still had opened. It read:
"So this is goodbye. If for some miraculous reason they get back together, CH will be back open. It's a big if...but I sincerely hope I'll be working on this site once again." I sighed. It had been 5, almost 6 months since our breakup. That girl had heart. I reached down and pressed Ctrl + D and bookmarked the site before I shut off the computer.
