| Chapter Two Whitney: Four hours and 116 tryouts later, it was done. It was around midnight when the last dancer left the studio. I was tired. "You ready to go?" Dom asked me after picking up a few things around the studio. "More than ready," I groanded, picking up my bag. About a half hour later we entered our loft apartment. It was a huge, beautiful place. Dominic owned it and when I met him and we started seeing each other, I moved in with him. It was a mansion compared to my shabby apartment I was living in before. I shuffled in, my bottle of water now half empty, was in my hand, swinging back and forth. I was so tired I almost ran into the large punching bag hanging from the ceiling. "Oh, I forgot that was there," I laughed it off. "Mmm hmm," Dom said, making his way to the kitchen. I walked into our bedroom and dropped the bag I had on my shoulder on to the bed. I heard a little muffled bark coming from the bathroom. "Oh, I forgot," I mumbled to myself, walking toward the door and opening it. Out tumbled our new puppy, Sam. "Hey, baby," I said, leaning down and picking it up. "Did you leave any presents for Dom to pick up?" I asked peering into the room. "No? Aww, that's my good boy, yeah," I said as the puppy showered me in kisses. "But I bet you're dying to pee, so let's go out." I carried him out to the living room and opened the door and let him out. "So what do I have to clean up this time?" Dom wondered as he ate his pasta. "It's like two AM, Dom, how can you eat?" I asked him. He shrugged. "Anyways, no, our lil boy was good." "Thank god," he mumbled. I walked over to him. "Aww poor Dom, my pooper scooper," I said, wrapping my arms around him. "I'm going to bed." I kissed him goodnight, stopped by the door, let Sam in, then headed off. Dominic: I was up bright and early the next morning. Four hours of sleep was enough to refuel me. Whitney sauntered in a couple of hours later. "Hey," I said, looking up from my papers that were laid out on the island we had in the middle of the kitchen. "Hi," she mumbled. She sat on the stool in front of me. "What are you doing?" she asked as she picked up one of the papers in front of her and started scanning over it. "Oh, just narrowing down choices for the dancers," i said, scribbling on a couple of pieces of paper. "Who are you thinking?" Whitney asked, putting down the paper she held. "Well, Suzanne was a good choice," I replied. "Yeah, I liked her." "Amanda, no.74" I suggested. "Yeah, good one," Whitney said, getting up and grabbing a bottle of OJ from the fridge. "Teresa no.26," I said, scanning over her paper. "Mm hmm," she replied, sipping her juice. "Nikki no. 75" I quickly mentioned. "No way, Dom!" Whitney cried. "Her attitude is awful." "How would you know? She said like, 2 words, if that!" I exclaimed. Whitney just crossed her arms in front of her. "C'mon, hon, you have to admit she danced great. We could really use her." I reached across the table and took her hand. "Fiiine," she sighed. "Whose your fifth choice?" "Weeel..." I trailed off. "What?" she asked. "I thought we could use you," I suggested. "Me?" she asked, pointing to herself. I nodded. "No, no way Dominic. I am not going to dance for Five." "Come on, we need you," I pleaded. "It's just going to be a few months and we have no really big things schedualed other than this, and I need you now, come on. You're the only one who can fill in the fifth spot." She rolled her eyes. I got up and walked around the table and stood behind her. I wrapped my arms around her. "Please?" I wispered in her ear. "Fine." she finally caved. "But I'm doing this for you, Dom. Not for some popish group." I smiled. "Thank you," I said, letting her go and going back to organizing the paperwork. Chapter Three... |
