| Chapter Fifteen Whitney: I stood outside the bus on my mobile. Now there was no official way for things to be worse. I was getting out of the car with Nikki when it rang. Now I was pacing outside as Nik, Abs, Scott, and Ritchie watched me. "How...how serious is it?" I nervously asked, bringin my hand up over my eyes. "Will she be okay for the next day or so? I think I can make it soon. Tell her I'm on my way. Okay thanks. Bye." I pressed the off button on my pastel blue mobile and looked at it. I stood where I was and looked out over the horizon. Everything was falling apart right now. I took a deep breath and looked behind me at my four friends. Ritchie looked quickly at the ground, trying not to make it look so obvious, but the rest just kind of stared at me. Scott looked like he was getting ready to be sick. I probably looked the same as him. I walked toward them and Nikki stepped toward me. "What's wrong?" she quietly asked. "My grandma," I said, motioning with my phone. "She's....really sick. She's in the hospital. They just admitted her about an hour ago." "Aw, Whit," Nik said as she came to me and gave me a hug. I snifed, trying to hide the tears i felt coming. "They said she'd be okay for the next day or so, they have her on a lot of medication. But...Nik, I have to go home she's the only real family I've got left. I have to see her." I explained. I saw a pained look in Scott's eyes and he looked away. Nikki simply nodded. She understood. I walked up to Scott. "We need to talk," he told me. I nodded as the others piled into the bus. Scott: We walked out deeped in the parking lot. She was going home and I didn't know when I'd see her again. I knew I had to tell her before she found out from someone else. We slowed to a stop and I looked down at her. "Whit, I have some bad news," I quietly said. She looked up at me, tears forming in her eyes. "Oh great, just what I was hoping to hear from you, bad news," she said. "Whitney, I love you." I said. "Nothing can change that and nothing ever will." "Scott, please, don't drag it on any further. I have to start packing," she sighed, wiping away a few tears. "Kerry...is...pregnant," I finally said. Whitney stopped and looked up at me. "She's what? Are you serious?" she sharply asked. "I wish I wasn't," I looked down. "I can't believe this. I...I can't believe you! " she cried. "You got her pregnant? That's...that's just great Scott. Great." I looked at her. She just shook her head and walked back toward the bus as J and Sean pulled up. J: I saw Whitney head back toward the bus as a good pace, wiping what looked like tears off her face. I glanced back to where she was and saw Scott standing there, looking like the world had ended and he was next to go. I got out as soon as I parked. I walked over to where Scott was. "What was that all about?" I asked him, motioning toward the bus. He shrugged a bit. "Kerry's pregnant, J," Scott told me. "What?!" I exclaimed. "And Whitney's grandma is really sick. She's going home," Scott sighed. "And you told her and made her even more upset?" I sharply asked. Scott swallowed. "I can't believe you, man." I said, heading toward the bus. Nikki came off when she saw me walking toward it. "J," she stopped me. I looked past her but saw nothing in the bus. "Don't go in right now. Whitney is a mess. She can't talk to you right now." "Why not? I'm her bloody boyfriend!" I yelled. "J, calm down." Nikki said. "A lot of things have happened in a short period of time and she can't handle it. Just leave her alone for a bit." I stopped, angry. "Fine," I said, storming off. Chapter Sixteen... |
