Chapter Three

Scott: I was sitting in the very back of the bus flipping through a magazine when I saw Whitney coming toward me. I brought the mag up higher and watched her over it. She collapsed on of the couches diagonal from mine. This is it. I told myself. Now or never, Scotty boy. I set down my magizine on the table and scooted forward a bit on my seat. "Erm, Whitney?" I said, breaking the silence. She looked up at me from the carpet, but only for a second. "Look. Its been a couple of months since...you know, what happened. I just wanted to let you know, I am so so so incredibly sorree for what I said. I didn't mean it. I was just caught up in the moment...you and me...I just, I just wanted you to know that I am sorry." I sighed, knowing everything I have wanted to say to her was finally said. Well...not all...
"Thanks," she finally said, after a minute. "That means a lot." I got up and sat on the couch near her, but not next to her. J would have a hernia if he walked back here and saw us next to each other.
"I never meant to hurt you, and I ended up hurting both of us," I told her. "Kerry and I..we're over. She and I just weren't on the same page." She nodded a bit.
"I can understand that." she replied.
"I just...I want a family someday, you know? Like you were telling me that day. It sounds really nice. I guess Kerry didn't think so. She couldn't even bloody come on tour with me!" I felt myself getting angry and calmed myself down. Not now, Scott, I told myself. Don't screw this up. Whitney had focused her attention on me now. "I just want things to be normal between us again. Things between J and me might never be the same...but maybe you and I..we can be cool." She nodded in agreement.
"Yeah," she smiled. "I'd like that."

Nikki: I got up from the front of the bus and started to wander around just to see what the lads were doing. I walked past the bunks and toward the back of the bus. I stopped about ten feet from the back room when I saw Scott and Whitney actually laughing and in conversation. Well good for her, I smiled as I thought to myself. And him too. I laughed a bit and was walking back to the front of the bus when J emerged from one of the bunks. "Excuse me," he said as he started to pass me and head toward the back of the bus. I immediatly panicked.
"J!" I exclaimed. I stuck my arm out and leaned against the wall, inabling him to pass. "I... you were
just the guy I was looking for."
"Um, that's great, Nik, but Whitney and I had a bit of a disagreement, I need to straighten it out." he explained to me.
"Oh...well, I think I saw her at the front of the bus talking to John," I stammered.
"When she left she headed that way," he said, pointing to the back.
   "Oh, well she turned
around and came up front. I remember." I said, still leaning on the wall.
"Okay..." J said, turning around and heading toward the front of the bus. When he was out of sight I hurried back.
"Uh, Whitney," I said, interrupting her and Scott's conversation. "J..is, erm, looking for you. He's headed back here next."
"Crap," she quietly said. Scott jumped up and moved across from her on the other couch and sat, propped his feet up on the table, grabbed his magazine and furiously began reading. Whitney grabbed a book from the table and pulled her feet up on the seat and began to read. "Thanks!" she told me. I nodded and headed back out. J was coming back down the hall.
"She's not up there," J said, throwing a thumb toward the front of the bus.
"Ohh.." I said, acting like I was in deep thought. "Sorry!" I said, quickly coming out of it and walking past him. Phew.
