| Chapter Seven Whitney: I woke up in the bunk next to J. I squinted my eyes as the pain rushed to my forehead. I had just remembered the major drinking we did last night. I groaned and sat up. I clumsily climbed over J and stumbled out into the aisle. I saw Nikki in the back of the bus and I headed that way. Before I got there I stopped by the sink and downed two tylenol. I walked back there and collapsed on the couch across from Nikki, laying once agan. "Morning, beautiful," she cheerily greeted me. "Unnnffghh," I replied, closing my eyes and rolling over on my back. "I thought you said that you would never again, I repeat, never again, get drunk after that night with J a few months ago." Nikki said. "Well, see, there is this thing in Whitney land called a 'lie'" I said, making quotation marks with my fingers when I said lie. "I can see its not completely worn off," Nikki laughed a bit. I ignored her. "Hey, Whit?" "What?" I asked, opening one eye and looking over at her. "Don't you think you shouldn't drink right now?" she asked, sounding a bit timid. "Can't it be, erm, harmful?" "Harmful?" I repeated. "Like me losing brain cells?" I laughed a bit. "No..." Nikki replied. "I was actually thinking of something else..." she trailed off. "Nik, what?" I asked. "Are you...pregnant?" she finally asked me. I opened my eyes and looked over at her. "What? Are you serious?" I started laughing. "No! I am not pregnant! How could you possibly think that?" "Well, the other day out in the parking lot, Scott passed you guys up and heard you talking about kids...I just thought..." she smiled. "No way, Nik. Not now," I replied. J: I woke up and reached over behind me for Whitney. I got a handful of sheets. Geeze, I thought, she's never here in the morning. I got up and shook off the headache I was beginning to get. I stepped out into the aisle and looked toward the front of the bus. Sean and Abs were up there talking. I looked toward the back where Nikki and Whitney were. I smiled a bit and walked toward them. Nikki greeted me with a smile. Whitney was laying on the couch with her eyes closed, but she was strumming her fingers on her stomach so I knew she wasn't asleep. I walked over to to her and leaned down and kissed her forehead. She smiled and opened her eyes. She reached up, put her hand on the back of my neck and pulled me down to her again, kissing me long and soft. "Um...do you guys want me to leave?" Nikki asked as I kissed her again. "Would you mind, Nik?" I asked jokingly. "Yeah, leave us expecting parents be," Whitney said. "What?!" I exclaimed, pulling away from her. Whitney and Nikki looked at each other and burst out laughing, leaving me dumbfounded. Chapter Eight... |
