Black Metal
Artist Description
Dimmu Borgir Dimmu Borgir is a melodic black metal band hailing from Norway. Haunting keyboard melodies, aggressive guitar work, destructive drums, grim/raw vocals and a touch of melodic/operatic vocals characterize Dimmu Borgir's sound. They are musically inspired by 80's black metal and heavy metal. Classic composers, like Wagner and Dvorak, also inspire them.

Gothic Rock
Artist Description
Bauhaus The original gothic rock band!!! Although the broke up in 1983 their music is still a huge seller, their style is still contemporary, and their live shows are now legendary. With the image and brooding music it was inevitable that Bauhaus would be classified with the vanguard of the "goth" fashion, a totally misleading confinement which ignored their humor, experimentation and uniqueness. Their music was dark rock 'n' roll. Using white lights only ("Colored lights are for Christmas trees" - Bauhaus), videos on a single small screen and one strobe, the group was startling, threatening, and hypnotic, especially in the confines of a small club.
Christian Death In the early 1980's in Los Angeles Rozz, at the age of 16, formed a rock band of 4 members which was influenced by both West Coast punk, Bowie and T-Rex. This band would eventually be named Christian Death. This was the American-West Coast Gothic. Rozz developed a vampiric image by wearing black dresses, heavy makeup, fishnets, silver jewelry and long dyed black hair. His music combined the morbidness of Edgar Alan Poe with the poetry of Baudeliere and presented the listener with the dark, macabre aspects of the human experience.
Cruxshadows One of the most popular Darkwave bands on the planet, the Cruxshadows started in the early 1990s in a little town in North Florida. Numerous lineup changes over the years have not slowed down the quartet. But the band's sound transcends the realm of dance or club music. The rich and romantic flavor of the electric violin played by Rachel McDonnell, and the crunchy and sometimes biting guitar playing of Stacey Campbell, give the Cruxshadows a wide berth of musical possibilities. This, juxtaposed with the cold digital world of textures created by Chris Brantley and the moody musings of frontman, founder and lead singer Rogue, guarantee that this band is anything but typical.
Dead Can Dance In the beginning they were berated for being gothic two years too late, today they are applauded for being at the vanguard of World Music. Whoever you believe they have always endeavoured to remain true to their convictions, in the belief that their music would eventually find its audience on its own merits and not by way of slavishly pandering to the whims of an industry that continually lacks imagination and is subservient to formula and greed.
Him “We had no idea where it would lead us in the end. Whether it would turn out to be silly psychedelic music or the meanest motherfucker of metal known to man,” Valo grins. “But it felt really good. We just incorporated all the elements that came naturally and took it from there. With pretty mediocre success, of course…” They eventually became a completly new genre which is commonly called "love metal".
Inkubus Sukkubus They have great memorable songs, a spectacular and beautiful female vocalist, who can really sing. They also are more than just a band, their songs are lustful and earthy yet spiritually uplifting. If you like life full of romance, art, freedom, with dark erotism and mystisism, then they really are the best band in the whole World. Come and enter their Universe!
Jack Off Jill Dark Heavy Alternative with intoxicating female vocals that go from very nice to naughty and angry. Playground violence, kinder Goth, grade school goulie.
KMFDM Nihilistic industrial band originally formed in Hamburg, Germany, but who later enjoyed cult success in the USA. The band's name is an acronym of "Kein Mehrheit Fr Die Mitleid", a piece of German wordplay translating as "No Pity For The Majority".

Industrial
Artist Description
Lords of Acid This dance music act first made their mark in the late 80s on Belgium's "new beat" scene, before successfully crossing over to enjoy a series of rave hits in the early 90s. Lords Of Acid toured America and began to win over audiences with their increasingly industrial-orientated dance music. Voodoo-U, featuring new front woman Lady Galore (b. Ruth McCardle, England), carried on the shock tactics on tracks such as "Young Boys" and "Drink My Honey" while tapping into a schlock horror vein on "Out Comes The Evil".
Marilyn Manson
Mindless Self-Indulgence
Nine Inch Nails

Punk
Artist Description
AFI A band with a sound unlike any other, a sound where chilling melodies collide alternately with furious aggression and somber melancholy. While their music is firmly rooted in both punk rock and hardcore, they have effectively blasted away any distinction between the two and can claim an army of fans from both subcultures as well as virtually every other underground or extreme music genre from goth to metal.
