ANOTHER MORNING
By Earnest Willis

You just can't beat a breakfast of bacon and eggs, toast and jelly cooked at home where the smell goes all through the house and reaches your nose by surprise. It's even better if you can smell it cooking when you are outside taking a walk, washing the car,or working in the yard. It can drift invisibly into your nose and turn your head toward it automatically. I like my eggs scrambled with the bacon chunked up and mixed in real good. Lot's of fresh ground pepper and a little salt makes the aroma and the taste suit you so well you have to give the sweet lady an extra big hug and a pinch to let her know how much you appreciate her. It just starts the day off in the right direction. When you finish you stretch a big "reach to the sky stretch" and rub your stomach with that "I'm totally content gesture" then you are ready get after a hard day of work.

Outside, there's a chill in the air and just a hint of a breeze. The air smells of moisture. Tomorrow should bring snow or rain. Today I'd better get this dirt moved or it will be too muddy to get the shovel into it tomorrow. I'll load the dirt into a two wheeled wheelbarrow. Have you ever used a two wheeled wheelbarrow? The wheels are set apart on the outside of the handles instead of between them. They are apart just enough to keep it from tipping over when you are moving a heavy load across grasss or rough ground. Empty or with a light load you can move it along with one hand on one handle and it won't tip over. This is a big wheelbarrow. It holds a quarter yard of sand or dirt when level with the top. It has a large lip all around the top. With a load of tree limbs or bulky stuff, you can overfill it and then hook a bungy strap in the lip on one side and stretch it across the load to the other side and hook the strap into the lip on that side and the load will be secure for the trip to the mulchpile.  I'm really proud of this wheelbarrow. It was given to me by my brother , Gene. He just bought it in Amarillo one day and brought it to my house and said "This is yours". Now that's just one example of the kind of brother he has always been. He always thinks of others. This has been the way it's been since childhood. So, the wheelbarrow with two set apart wheels is just one of the many brotherly things he's done over the years. I really need to let him know how much I appreciate him more often. I think I should stop this work right now and go visit him..I. might catch him over at his shop on Thut street. So, I'll have to finish my tale about my morning another time.
