Hi Stormy!
Glad to finally meet you. Hope you're having a great time in Las Vegas!
After what seemed like a very short snooze, we were up and off again. Max and Jenn took me to a resort presentation on the far west side of the city. We stayed just over an hour and then left. 'The Cliffs' looked like a nice enough place, but the people who worked there seemed either dead or rude. The guy who showed us around said that he was one of the pitchers for the Cardinals in 1963, but we haven't been able to confirm that.
Back in town we visited the Harley-Davidson Cafe and Aladdin before meeting up with Carlo. We went to the Paris Resort and Casino and ate at a nice little French Bakery. After lunch we took pictures at the fountain outside of Paris, then went to Harrah's. There I took pictures with a stuffed jester and Max insulted a live one. It was when we were leaving and she got in his way to give him something and he said, "Somewhere out there is a sofa without seat covers." She looked down at her outfit and her eyes got really big, 'cause she knew exactly what he was talking about. We hurried away before there was any trouble.
We met mom and grandma at Caesar's Palace and watched the talking statues there, then walked to The Mirage, which now had a big white striped cat in the display case. On a moving walkway a lady was trying to see what was in the garden and leaned too far out. As we went by one of the columns, she didn't see it coming and * * * THUNK * * * she got nailed right in the head! She was really embarrased.
From The Mirage we took a train to Treasure Island to watch the pirate show, but we got there early and had to wait. Max, Carlo and grandma went gambling and Jenn, mom and I went shopping. Mom got several souveniers and after paying for them had a question about her receipt. It seemed to her that the change paid to her was different than what she should have received. When Jenn finished paying for her items, she and mom went outside to check it out. The salesman saw them talking and came out to explain that everything was okay, but a careful review of the receipt and the items indicated that mom bought $42 worth of items and paid with $50. She got back $7 with some change. The receipt showed that she bought $27 worth of stuff and the clerk went back to the store with $20 in his pocket!
When we caught up with everyone else at Treasure Island, grandma had managed to win a few dollars at the slot machines. Carlo, having a dinner date that evening, had to go, but before he left he took the time to sign his book. It was his very first book and his very first book signing! You can get a copy of Carlo's book at Barnes and Noble or at iUniverse. After Carlo left we went to get good spots for the pirate show. It was a really fun show and the pirates battled a British frigate right over our heads! I really wouldn't mind seeing that again! After that mom and grandma went on to do their own thing and Max, Jenn and I went on to explore more casinos. Boy, am I ever glad that they carried me around most of the time! After hearing how sore their feet got, I'm glad my toes didn't touch the ground too often!
We walked through Caesar's Palace, where Jenn made Max pose at Snackus Maximus. Max took a picture of Caesar, standing in a pool of water, pointing at Snackus Maximus.
Then we went to the Bellagio to watch the water show. Water shot out of jets in their big pool, high into the sky. The jets pulsated to music and would sway around, making different designs of water. It was a lot of fun to watch!
We then walked to the Monte Carlo, where we didn't do much. Next was New York, New York. Max and Jenn took pictures outside, then went in and got snacks. I was relieved at that as it was a very long day now and the last meal I recalled was a long time ago in Paris. The snack, though, was just that, because all they got were a pretzel and some slushies, then it was rush, rush, rush to the Excalibur. At the Excalibur I posed with a bunch of stuffed knights before we took a train to Mandalay Bay.
From Mandalay Bay we walked to Luxor, which is a big funny shapped building with a lot of cat statues around. I think my friend Sandy, the White-Bellied Cat, would enjoy this place. We looked around a lot and took lots of pictures. I managed to sneak into a whole bunch of them. After we were done inside, we went outside, across the street, and took more pictures of Luxor. Then we ran across two paramedics in their ambulance and they agreed to pose with me. They even turned the ambulance lights on and signed my book! I sure do enjoy meeting friendly folks like them!
On the way back to our hotel we stopped by The Tropicana, the MGM Grand and Bally's. My little feet hurt just thinking about all the walking that was done! I was sure glad to crawl into my own bed.
