Summit of the Eight

A trip to downtown Denver. We were headed for the main library for a program on genealogy. There were three speakers who all talked about their experiences of tracking family members and gave information on how to do this yourself.

Before the meeting started we cruised around the library looking at art work on exhibit. Along the way we came across a room with a really large table in it. This turned out to be "The Legacy Table" around which world leaders met in Denver for "The Summit of the Eight" that took place June 20th through the 22nd in 1997. I got to sit at and on the table and tried out the view that former President William Clinton had. It was really cool imagining all the world leaders sitting around me.

We also ate at another Wendy's this evening. It was an extra special event as their founder and spokesman, Dave Thomas, died just the day before and we changed our dinner plans to honor him. I'll miss seeing his smiling face on all those commercials he filmed.
