St. Patrick's Day Parade

Boy, what a busy day!

First we headed downtown to see the saint Patrick's Day parade. I sure hoped it would be warmer than the 'Parade or Lights' we saw three months ago. Along the way we passed the parade staging grounds and saw all the participants getting ready. There were people putting on spotted cow outfits and readying spotted cars. Ronald McDonald, the McDonald's mascot, was there getting ready, too. He was very friendly and signed my book for me and posed for some pictures. What a cool guy!

While cruising around for a good spot to see the parade, we wandered by the Denver Mint. Since Russ works there, I asked a guard if he was around and to my surprise, he pulled out his radio and called Russ, telling him he had visitors! Russ, of course, came out and chatted with us for a while.

We then got back to looking for a place to watch the parade. We found a pretty good spot, right up against the street where all the action was. It was a nice parade with a lot of different colors (and a lot of green in particular). And there were a lot of people and some animals. I even saw the cows again, riding their silly little motor cars. Jenn called them 4-wheelers. And to my great delight, when Ronald McDonald went by, he spoted me and waved and said 'hi'. I sure like this guy! I'll need to eat at his restaurnats a little more often. Maybe I'll see him again!

After about an hour we went on to our next stop of the day, the Denver Public Library. We met a nice lady here who took us on a tour of the building and explained a lot of it's history and design. It was a very good tour and I learned a lot.

When leaving the library (an hour later) we walked outside and the parade was right where we had left it on the other side. I guess it took them about an hour to walk around the town, too. So we got to sit and watch some more. We almost saw the whole thing. What fun!

Our third stop of the day was the Omega Glory meeting. It was good and we once again got some business taken care of. After wrapping things up we kept to the holiday spirit and headed to a place called "Bennigan's" for dinner.

Bennigan's was a nice place but our waitress was slow and seemed confused often. The food was tastey and we played cards. Once dinner was over we headed back to the burrow with Deb and Audi not far behind. We played some more cards and had a great time.

Man, what a day this was! I had lots of fun, but was very happy when Jenn and Max sent me to bed. Sweet dreams to all. Hope your holiday was as good as mine.
