Flying Away

I'm not too sure where yesterday ended and today began, but I've been told it is a new day. I never stayed up all night before!

After our fast paced day on Saturday, we headed back to the burrow to pack and wait for Luda and Ida to come over. We were all leaving to go to the airport for a trip to Hawaii. I've never heard of Hawaii before this trip was scheduled. Jenn said it's one of the states of our country and that it is made up of islands. Max informed me that islands are pieces of land surrounded by water on all sides. That's the reverse of a lake. When a lake is made of dirt and the land around it is water, it's called an island in an ocean. I get it! And Hawaii is in the middle of the biggest ocean of them all - the Pacific Ocean. The name of the island we were headed to was Oahu. Max said he'd been there before. Jenn has also been to Hawaii, but she went to a different island, called Maui.

So we headed out on our adventure! The flight to Los Angles was nice and short but the flight to Oahu seemed to go on forever and ever. In Hawaii everything is green and it's quite muggy from the humidity. Humidity is a new experience for me also. It's when there's too much water in the air, but it's not raining, although your fur gets wet just the same. Max said he didn't like humidity and to be honest, neither did I. It made my fur all frizzy. We arrived in the morning and the went in search of our temporary burrows for the duration of the week. Luda and Ida stayed at the Ohana Maile Sky Court and we stayed at the Ramada Vacation Suites.

After getting all unpacked and the phone numbers of the rooms exchanged, we headed back out to see some of the sites. We drove along the Pali Highway and made it to a very nice lookout. It was windy, but the view was great. We then drove to the Ala Moana Mall where they had some really big fish in a pool. We ate at Bubba Gump's and then went back to our new burrows for some much needed rest and relaxation.
