Today's adventure: How does pineapple grow? For the answer we headed to the Dole Plantation. Turns out they grow out of the ground just like a plant. Lunch time! They also had the world's largest maze made out of bushes that you can go through and get stamps from six different locations and then find your way out with the best time that you can get. The world record is 6 minutes. Max, Jenn and I completed the maze in about 20 minutes. I guess that wasn't to bad for our first run. We then ate some great pineapple sorbet and then left for more fun.
The Helemano Plantation was right next door. We visited their small store and took some fun pictures of all of us with goofy board pineapple bodies and huts.
For the rest of the day we cruised the along the ocean's edge on highways 83, 836, H3 and 72. We saw some beautiful sights and found another lighthouse. On the way back into Waikiki, by Hanauma Bay, we spotted a local TV station truck. Of course, I couldn't pass by without a photo op. The man with the truck was very nice. He even gave me his email so we could send the picture to him.
We ate at a Planet Hollywood which is a lot like the Hard Rocks I have visited, only they have items from the movies on display all around, not rock stars. A good time was had by all.
