Season One Angel: Let's
just say I'm a friend... Buffy: Look, if
you're gonna be popping up with this Cryptic Wise Man act on a
regular basis, can you at least tell me your name? Angel: You're
cold. Willow: He's not
around much, it's true. Buffy: So, you
weren't following me? I just had this feeling you were. Buffy: My diary?
You read my diary? That is *not* okay! A diary is like a person's
most private place! I... You don't even know what I was writing
about! 'Hunk' can mean a lot of things, bad things. And, and when
it says that your eyes are 'penetrating', I meant to write
'bulging'. Angel: I did a lot of thinking today. I really can't be around you. Because when I am... Buffy: Hey, no
big. Water... over the bridge, under the bridge... Xander: Angel's a vampire. You're a slayer. I think it's obvious what you have to do. -Angel
Buffy: "I
know you're here, and I know what you are."
Buffy: "I
invited you into my home, and you attacked my family."
Angel: The
elders conjured up the perfect punishment for me: they restored
my soul.
Angel: I just wanted to see if you were ok. And your mother? Buffy: We're both good. You? Angel: If I can go for a little while without being shot r stabbed I'll be alright. Look this can't... Buffy:... Ever be anything. I know. For one thing you're like two hundred and forty two years older than I am. Angel: I just gatta... I gotta walk away from this. Buffy:(nods) I know. Me too. One of us has to go here. Angel: (Whispers) I know. [They kiss] Buffy: You okay? Angel: It's just... Buffy: Painful. I know. See you around? [Buffy walks away, Angel watches her go. Camara pans in on close up of his chect wear the cross he gave her on their first meeting has seared his heart. -Angel
Giles: A vampire in love with the Slayer. It's rather poetic, in a Maulin sort of way. -Out of mind, Out of sight/Invisible Girl Angel: You think I could stand if anything happend to you? -Prophecy Girl
Season Two Angel: What are
you afraid of? Me? Us? Angel: I just
thought you'd have somebody with you. Xander or someone. Willow: Love
makes you do the wacky. Buffy: I don't
love Xander. Willow: You
dreamed about Angel again? Angel: This
isn't some fairy tale. When I kiss you, you don't wake up from a
deep sleep and live happily ever after. Angel: Don't
listen to her. Please. You look fine. Angel: I don't
get it, Buffy. Why'd you think I'd like you better dressed that
way? Angel: There's a
lot about me you don't know. Angel: Do you
love me? Angel: Yeah.
I'll never be a kid. Buffy: No! Your
eye! Hey! Don't be a baby. I'm not gonna hurt you. Buffy: Good.
'Cause I've had it. Spike is going down. You can attack me, you
can send assassins after me, that's fine. But nobody messes with
my boyfriend! Kendra: Mm. It
is too strange dat a Slayer loves a vampire. Angel: Kiss me. Buffy: Like I'm
really planning to have kids anytime soon. Uh, maybe *some*day,
in the future, when I'm done having a life, but... right now kids
would be just a little too much to deal with. Buffy: She
killed you. Right in front of me. Buffy: This is
nice. I like seeing you first thing in the morning. Angel: My people
-- before I was changed -- they exchanged this as a sign of
devotion. It's a claddagh ring. The hands represent friendship,
the crown represents loyalty... and the heart... Well, you
know... Wear it with the heart pointing towards you. It means you
belong to somebody. Like this. Angel: I love
you. I try not to, but I can't stop. Buffy: Angel... there must be some part of you inside that still remember whos you are... Angelus: Dream on, school girl, you're boyfriend is dead. -Innocence
Angelus: You know what the worst part was huh? Pretending that I loved you If I'd know how easily you'd give it up, I wouldn't have even bothered. -Innocence Buffy: I can't believe it's the same person. He's the complete opposite of what he was. Willow: Well... Sort of, except... Buffy: Excet what? Willow: You're still the only thing he thinks about. -Passion Angelus: So that's everything huh? No weapons, no friends, no hope. Take all that away and what's left? Buffy: Me. -Becoming II
Angel: What's hapening, Buffy? Buffy: Shhh, it doesn't matter... [They kiss] Buffy: I love you. Angel: I love you... Buffy: Close your eyes. -Becoming II
Season Three
Angel: If I was
blind, I would see you. Buffy: When I
killed him, Angel was cured. Your spell worked at the last
minute, Will. I was about to take him out, and, um... something
went through him... and he was Angel again. He-he didn't remember
anything that he'd done. He just held me. Um, but i-it was... it
was too late, and I, I had to. So I, I told him that I loved
him... and I kissed him... and I killed him. Mr Platt: You know, lots of people lose themselves in love. It's no shame. They write songs about it. The hitch is, you can't stay lost. Sooner or later, you have to get back to yourself. Buffy: And if you can't? Mr Platt: If you can't, love becomes your master. And your just it's dog.
Angel: Buffy? -Beauty and the beasts Buffy: What I want from you I can never have. -Lovers walk
Angel: There must be a way we can still see each other. Buffy: There is. Tell me you don't love me. Angel is silent. -Lovers walk
Angel: It told
me to kill you. You were in the dream. You know. It told me to
lose my soul in you and become a monster again. Angel: Am I a
thing worth saving, huh? Am I a righteous man? The world wants me
gone! Angel: Buffy,
you could never be helpless or boring, not even if you tried. Angel: I watched
you, and I saw you called. It was a bright afternoon out in front
of your school. You walked down the steps... and... and I loved
you. Angel: I love
you. Angel: Look, I
don't need to see movies to get worked up. Just being around you
does that just fine. Doesn't mean that I'm gonna lose control,
that I'm going to be frustrated around you. It feels nice, just
to feel. Angel: You still
my girl? Angel: Hey. I
won't ley anything happen to you if I can help it. No matter
what, I'll always be with you. Hey.. I'll love you... even if
you're covered with slime. Angel: And
there's no comparison... in 243 years I've loved exactly one
person. Buffy: I don't
know what the Mayor was talking about. How could he know anything
about us? Buffy: You know,
this place really isn't girl-friendly. No mirrors, no natural
light. Angel: You
deserve more. You deserve something outside of demons and
darkness. You should be with someone who can take you into the
light. Someone who can make love to you. Angel: I'm
trying to do what's right here, okay? I'm trying to think with my
head instead of my heart. Buffy: I want my
life to be with you. Buffy: I can't breathe, Will. I feel like I can't breathe. -The Prom [They look at each other, their burdens lifted slightly, their pain not gone but mellowing. Words unsaid.] - (Stage directions) The Prom Buffy: I never
thought you'd come. Wild horses - 'Wild Horses' By The Sundays, The Prom Buffy: I won't let you die. I can't. Graduation Day II
[She feels him before she sees him. Turns. Angel stands some twenty yards away, looking at her. People coming and going in between. They both stop. The noise fades away. They stare at each other. Angel turns and walks away. Buffy stands and watches him. After a moment, she goes in the opposite direction.] - (Stage directions) Graduation Day II

Doyle: Maybe
he's over her." -IWRY Buffy: "I don't know. - I just know that when you're around, whether I see you or not, - I feel you - inside - and it throws me."-IWRY
Angel: "No.
I-It is confusing. And I.. When we're apart - its easier.
It hurts - every day. But I live with it. And now you're - you're
right here - and I can actually reach out.. and - it's more then
confusing - it's unbearable." Doyle: "So?
Don't they deserve a little happiness after all they've been
through?" -IWRY Angel: "God, I love food." Buffy: "Food is good." -IWRY Buffy: "By
the way, I'm over the whole needing to be mature thing. That time
you just spent in the kitchen? That was enough time apart." Buffy:
"It's a good sound. Thump-thump. Thump-thump." -IWRY Buffy: "No,
I - want to stay awake - so this day can keep happening." Buffy:
"Angel? This is the first time I ever really felt this
way."
Mohra: "Together you were powerful. Alone, you are dead. -IWRY Buffy: "Shh, you're all right. That's all that matters. Shh, you're all right. And it's over. And we're together." -IWRY Woman: "You
are wrong. This one is willing to sacrifice every drop of human
happiness and love he has ever known for another. He is not a
lower being." -IWRY Angel: "I
went to see the Oracles. I asked them to turn me back." Buffy: "How
am I supposed to go on with my life knowing what we had? What we
could have had?" Buffy: "No. I'll never forget. I'll never forget. I'll never forget. I'll never forget."-IWRY Buffy: "Yeah. - So - I'm gonna go - start forgetting." -IWRY Faith: I wake up to find this blonde chick isn't even dating the guy she was so nut's about before. She's moved on - to the first college beefstick she meets. Not only has she forgotten 'the love of her life', she's forgotten all about the chick she nearly killed for him. -This year's girl Angel: She's nobody. -Sanctuary Joss Whedon "I don´t
think it will spell the end of David´s association with Buffy or
of Buffy´s with Angel," says Buffy and Angel creator Joss
Whedon."Because I don´t think those two will ever be
completely broken apart." Tim Minear While we have, to some degree, made specific choices to "liberate" Angel as a character and as a series, I'm pretty much of the same mind as you are -- Buffy is the One True One. The Meant To Be. In my bones, I feel like all roads lead back to her for Angel. But that's just me. And my name ain't Joss, for instance. Not that Joss has said otherwise, mind you. David Boreanaz "Their story's not over. Their parting in the season finale was actually a blessing. It will help them rediscover something about themselves to make their relationship stronger." "But I think in the long run, I think it will be stronger for her and myself. The fact that these two characters will leave and somehow their love will never end." "It's not like Angel is ever going to get over Buffy, but he won't be whining about her every episode. She'll just be the spectre of his one true love." Sarah Michelle Gellar She´ll always miss Angel. Riley is a wonderful foil for Buffy but I think it`s a thing that a lot of young girls do after they have their first love, their Romeo and Juliet style love, the love that never can be; you find someone that`s safe, someone that can protect you. But it doesn`t have that same excitement, and I think deep down Buffy will always love Angel and she will never love anyone the way in which she loves him. "Last year, with Angel and the heartbreak, I would go home and cry. My body wouldn't work properly. I don't take demons home with me, but I do take Buffy's pain. The vampires I'm immune to, but not the emotion. When we filmed the episode where Angel breaks up with her, I cried for 25 minutes. I thought I was having a breakdown. They had to shut down the set. When they say rip your heart out, that's really what unfulfilled love does." "It was interesting when they first said that David was going to get his own show. I was so excited for him, watching how he's grown since he started on the show as his first real job. Maybe I was getting too comfortable with David. What an exciting adventure now, for both my character and myself, and for David and his character, but I have to tell you as an actor I miss him immensely. Every time they try and bring someone new in for Buffy, all I can think is, 'but it's not Angel!'. I'm not really sure what we're going to do now. We just did an interesting episode where Buffy spent the summer moping over her boyfriend -- like everybody who loses their first love -- and then this cute sophomore in college ask her out and she's so excited and he says all the right things and does all the right things and she sleeps with him on the first date and then he dumps her. I ran into Joss' office, screaming, 'Buffy would never do this! All this history with Angel -- this is WRONG!' And Joss said to me, 'Sarah, try going to college. This is what people do and this is how they learn and these are the mistakes they make', and that is exactly what Buffy is going through. Right now she's trying to convince herself, like most young girls do, that she needs to get away from the bad guy and find a nice, solid guy, but she's terrified that without that fire and intensity and passion that she would step all over a nice guy because she'll be bored. I think Angel is her true love and I don't know if she can ever find love like that again. I just did my first cross-over episode with Angel and it was an amazing experience and one of the best episodes we've ever done..." "In my opinion, Buffy and Angel should be together forever, but I understand for storytelling purposes, it's not to be. Angel is Buffy's true love. They have something you can never repeat. I mean, I understand it when people say nothing is ever the same after your first true love. They were soul mates. And Riley and Buffy were at different stages in their lives; they were different people. Buffy never loved Riley the same way she loved Angel." |
