Darin is from Caroline's past. He was there they day the Benson's brought her home on the account of his family moving into the house across the street. His sister, Carly was born a few months later. She and Caroline became the closest of friends, doing everything together. Which meant, he was the one always being followed.

He has seen all of Caroline's antics up to the day he left Lakeside, Florida. She was about the only one that liked trouble as much as he did. And boy, did they get themselves into trouble -- like the time the two of them got caught stealing peaches from old Lady Gordimer's tree.

Though at times it annoyed him, he eventually got to liking having Carly and her cute friend follow him around all the time. Him being six years their senior, he taught them the more important things, like how to hauck a good lougie and the best spot to dig worms. After a while, he got older and stopped hanging around his lil sister so much, but her friend always found a way to see him.

Carly was his sister, his one and only, and he would never do anything to hurt her. So when he realized he could have feelings for her best friend, he kept it secret. Once Caroline latched onto those feelings, and returned them, it seemed their romance budded strong and steady, but nonetheless a secret. He had even come to the conclusion that he loved Caroline, and would've told his sister, sooner than later.

But sooner never came. Carly died, and it was all his fault. Caroline blamed herself that whole year after the accident. He couldn't take any more, her pain...and his. So, he left...and never looked back. Until now. Darin Roberts has come to Port Charles, where his Caroline is. He's going to find her and make her his again...no matter what it takes. Him and Caroline...well, they were just destined to be together.
