Welcome...,
continued here
for the last several years. In this online guide, I pack all that I have seen sking Western Canada and share it
with my fellow skiers from around the world. Are you planning a visit to Western Canada soon? Or are you
living in Canada? Regardless of where you are from, you will enjoy using this unbiased forum about the Rocky
Mountains, Western Canada and more from the eyes of a skier. As you use this site, you will notice that it is
broken up into four basic categories; This page is the articles page, this is where I post interesting and use
ful little dribbles designed to enlighten and entertain. Next is the resorts page which contains lists of all
the ski resorts as they are located from East to West. Visitors can click on each name to get to specific
resort pages. In these pages can be found all sorts of information pertaining to that resort. Stats, Pics,
trailmaps and discriptions can all be found there. In yet another useful section are the restaurants and
the lodging pages, although a bit slim now we will be reviewing the local eatery and lodging establishments
in each area that has a resort town.Lastly the links page contains links to every Western Canadian ski
hill or resort I could find. Use these links to get to the official web page of each resort listed,
sweet deal. Also there are other links to services such as the BC and Alberta Highways Department,
the Canadian Weather Service and other useful services.
Hopefully by the end of your time here you will have seen enough to know, somewhat, your way around
Western Canada. One note about the title of my site, SKITHECANADIANROCKIES.COM, while it is true that
the Mountains are divided up into specific ranges, I have sort of heaped them all into one large sum
I will call The Rocky Mountains. The three main ranges from East to West start with the Rockies, the
next range West is the Colombia, followed by the Coast Mountains along the Pacific coast Of Canada.
The Colombia Range seems to have the most diversity and the most confusion as to what location is
in what range. This source of this confusion is most likely due to the numerous subtitles given to
the inferior ranges, some maps cover some but not all subtitles, while others confuse a given
subtitle for the name of the major range. Regardless of any confusion that already exists, I
list as many of the important ranges I could find and keep in mind that some ranges while small
are important to us skiers and might be treated larger than otherwise expected. Remember this
site is a new one so go easy on me, just kidding, I will be adding more sections shortly such
as a photo page for each resort page, Have fun and if you have any questions feel free to
email me.I shouldnt guarantee any of
the content but I promise everything is as close as one guy can get it. I hope to see all of
you who visits my site on the mountain this season.
