WHISTLER BLACKCOMB

What cant be said of Whistler, simply the largest ski resort in North America (combined with Blackcomb) and one which rivals any European mountain. More skiable terrain, lifts, runs, restaurants, lodging and other amenities, than any other ski resort this side of the Atlantic. Located just 120 km (75mi) from Vancouver, Whistler is an easy trip up the Howe Sound and Garibaldi Provincial Park. With a Winter temperature range of -12c/11f of a low in Winter to 5c/42f for a high in late May and an average snowfall of 30 feet(two seasons ago it snowed over one hundred five feet at Mt Baker just south of here on the American side) Whistler is much more mild than the higher Rockies. I think this warmer weather is one reason why Whistler also seems to have more gals skiing there. Whistler continues to rule the skiing world. Come early and stay late, late in the season that is because Whistler stays open until the second week in May, see you there! Two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, rise up a mile out of the valley (1,609 metres/ 5,280 vertical feet) and access over 7,000 acres of prime mountain terrain - including 12 alpine bowls, three glaciers and more than 200 marked trails - through 33 state-of the-art lifts.
