First and Second Class pupils worked very hard to find out about Industries in their locality. We hope you enjoy reading about them.

1.McKeon Stoneworks:

There are 65 people working in McKeon’s, some in Brockley Park and some in Kilkenny.  It opened  in    1950.

There are three types of stone    1.Marble.

                            2. Granite.

                                               3.Limestone.

Stradbally Church is made out of limestone. The hardest type of stone is called flint.The stone is cut from the quarry with saws and then taken by lorry to the factory.After the factory is finished with it, it can be  used for many things such as kerbing tiles building and monumental work.  There used to be a limestone quarry in Stradbally.
