the 17th century, a time when life was precious yet many spent their days in reckless ways. billowing white sails pull beautifully crafted ships along the shores, or bob in the waves while anchored at port: men and women bustle about on and off the shore in attempts to go about their routines in peaceful fashions. merchants unload their cargo and make a plentiful profit delivering to the land dwellers. however occasional black bannered ships slink along the coast lines, pillaging and plundering along the way. some carry ruthless reputations, attacking ships and villages alike while leaving very few if any survivors. some are less fatal but equally lethal and feared. who be ye? of the land, or of the sea?
