Work is progressing on the 3D viewer, which will also be the landscape rendering engine for Stratgis. Currently we have tried 2 different renderers, and I am implementing the 3rd and final one.

Today I implemented the majority of the engine, incuding the vertex morphing algorithms for the split and merge operations.

Still left before we can even see what it looks like is the rest of the sector class, and the entire mesh class, as well as the caching algorithm for heightfield stitching. The method we are using allows us to use multiple large heightmaps for planets, and page them in and out of memory for best use.
