The object of this invention is to establish an intelligent identification system to recognize and validate currency based on the uniqueness of their serial numbers. Video scanning apparatus will be employed in conjunction with optical character recognition (OCR) software and broadcasting capability so that the ICVN can recognize the currency value from a digitized serial number, store it with or without a “tag” by memory means, compare it to a central database of currency serial numbers and thus determine its legitimacy and past points of entry in the system. The system will be constantly updated with new serial numbers (both legitimate and those flagged as suspect) and is expandable and adaptable to recognize all country currency and even bank and personal checks. |
