Chapter 3

Finally

I went home that day and by the time I got the feeling back in my hand, my parents were home.   I knew that if they saw it, they would majorly freak, so I said I was doing homework.

As I was walking upstairs, I started thinking about Claudia.  She was so cool today.  Maybe she'll be my friend.  Or does she think I'm a baby for not sticking up for my self?  Does she think I'm stupid? Not tallented?  All these thoughts ran through my head.

I decided to ask my parents if I could eat dinner in my room while doing my "homework" so they wouldn't notice my hand.  They let me.  Why wouldn't they?  I hardly ever ask for anything.

By the next morning, my hand was just a little red.  My mom's eagle eyes spotted it first.  "Hon... what happend to your hand?" she asked.

"Oh.... um.... I must have fallen asleep on it, mom."  That was close, but she believed it.  I quickly finished my breakfast and grabbed my backpack on the way out the door.  Finally I could breathe.  "I just hope," I said as I walked in the building, " that I can still breathe in school."
