Choke me from the air that I breathe
Take away the chance to simply live
Bleed the world slowly into desolation
Waste away into total degradation

Utterly destroy the canopy of shades
Shame on you for the mess that you made
Dry out the moisture that it carries
Strip away from this land all of its glory

They've existed since time everlasting
Been there since earth started evolving
Who are we then to seal off their fates?
Without trying hard enough to contemplate

I hope that today we realize what we've done
And that healing this land is much better for everyone
I wish for the world to someday really see
In remembrance to the memory of trees
