BLACKPOOL
  ENGLAND
On Dec 14th, 2001, Deb and I flew to John Lennon Airport in Liverpool. From there we travelled the 50 miles to Blackpool and stayed for three nights. Debbie was born back in 73' at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
The picture on the top right is the Black pool tower overlooking the Irish sea. People come from all over the world to witness the Blackpool illuminations which usually run from August to Sept.
Deb and I paid the 6 pounds each to have an opportunity to take in the view from the top of the Tower
                      BLACKPOOL TOWER
The famous tower was opened in 1894 in at 2493 tons.It is illuminated by 10,000 lightbulbs and requires 9 tons of paint for redecoration.
Height:518 feet, 400 feet less than the Eiffel tower in France.
A view of the north pier along the promenade overlooking the Irish sea.
                                   CHERRY BLOSSOM INN
This is where we stayed while visiting Blackpool. The rooms included a very delicious traditional English Breakfast in the dining room which gives  you an impressive view of the Irish sea. If you have the opportunity to ever venture to Blackpool , Deb and I sincerley recomend staying here for your accomodations.
the Cherry Blossom Inn is a large victorian House which was once the seaside home of the Family who owned the Cherry Blossom Polish Company. Although the house has now been converted into a 15 bedroom Hotel, many of the original features have been retained.Ornate ceiling plasterwork, old panelling and large Victorian fireplaces remain. The drawing room, with it's marbel pillors, situated on the first floor is now an elegant dining room.
This is Debbie's Auntie Bett.  Deb hasn't seen her for about 16 years.  To this day, Auntie Bett has always sent Deb, and now Kalten and Tanner a 5 pound note in their birthday cards.  Auntie Bett resides in Blackpool and is the most vibrant go getter I have ever seen.
This is Debb's brothers.  Sid (top) Deb has met prior to this trip, but Brian (right) Debbie has never met in her life.  The little girl in the picture is Brian's daughter Ellie.  For a 3 year old, she is the funniest, brightest girl you could talk to.  Debbie and her brothers have kept in touch since this reunion, and have made a packed to never lose contact now.  They all got along great, and the resemblences were uncanny.  Especially Brian who is the spitting image of her Late Father.  Besides the fact we plan to return to Blackpool this year, Brian and Sid are already planning a trip to visit us in Holland. Brian resides with his family in Fleetwood and Sid lives in Blackpool.
FLEETWOOD
   ENGLAND
Fleetwood is a small community 8 miles north from Blackpool. The small town is a well remowned fishing community and at one time was a prosperous fishing village during the 70's and 80's. Debbie's mom, four sisters from Canada, two brothers's who live in Rotterdam, all were born in Fleetwood and moved to Canada when Debbie was young. The picture to the right is a light house that would guide the fishing boats to dock in the harbour.
Debbie's brother Brian gave us a grand tour of this small community. Even to stop and show us the local monuments.
Even in December I found the climate very green and quite mild compared to the winters I am use to Canada. I like this picture as it gives a very scenic view of Fleetwood and the Irish Sea to the right.
Deb saying good bye to her brother sid prior to us leaving back home to holland
Do to the passing of Deb's Father a few years back we stopped by the Fleetwood Footbal club and the footbal field  where Deb's father use to play professionally for when he was younger.
Over all i had a splendid time visiting England and can't wait to return with the kids to visit new friends and relatives and Take the kids to the very large circus that tales place everyyear in blackpool.
