Association of Language Learning (ALL) Lectures

28 November 2001

In conjunction with the South West branch of the Association of Language Learning, Sir Thomas Rich's became the venue for the ALL Sixth form lectures in Gloucestershire. Pupils from Denmark Road, Ribston Hall, Pates, Newent, Chosen Hill, Stroud High School and Marling joined our own pupils to hear excellent lectures on racism in France and Austria. Annie Taylor from The Open University spoke with great authority in French on the origins of racism and the current situation. Michaela Gigerl from Bristol University gave a more informal lecture, highlighting the present day image of Austria from the sporting and cultural wonders to the problems of racism - problems which were well illustrated by means of political cartoons and video clips.
