A path in the Northlands......
Dusk is falling slowly on the quiet Northland forest. You thread slowly along the beaten little road, your ears full of the sound of the rushing river beside you. You have never been along this road before, though it seems to be a fairly well-used one. A sharp bend in the path looms before you; you continue on around it, and stop short.
Before you, the little path stretches on into the distance, and not far away is a large wooden building by the river, presumbly a roadside inn or tavern. What has your attention, however, is the massive badger who stands on the path before you. There is a dangerous glint in her eyes as she turns to face you, and it doesn't help your nerves that she bears a great broadsword at her belt. She looks you up and down as she speaks.
"Greetings ter ye, stranger. Ma' name's Strymstripe Thundr, an' Ah'm ter guardian of tis' path and area. Yer in ma' land noo', an' Ah'll expect ye ter behave yerself 'ere. Do ye hear Ah clearly?"
You nod vigorously and the badger continues, "Och, any'ow, dusk's falling now, an' I'll expect ye wish for someplace to spend ter night. Up ahead tis' the White Hawk Tavern, run by ma' friends Cloudcall an' Lilian. Iffa' yer want, though, ye kin' go straight up yon' road to ter Paths O Crossing. 'Member, though, Ah'll be aroun', so watch yerself."
The badger turns and disappears into the forest. You are left alone on the path to choose your next destination.
(Extras: The Paths of Crossing is a Redwall RP site based on the idea of a Tavern located near a highway of sorts for travellers. I believe this will be useful for those with chars travelling between various sites, acting as a kind of crossroads for such, not to mention that a useful site when linking to other Redwall clubs.)
