The body of the letter contains the main text of the letter. The first line of the first paragraph should contain the purpose of the letter or the reason for writing. This paragraph may be the only paragraph read so be brief and clear.
A Block style letter will not have any of the paragraphs indented. Each line of the paragraph will start on the left alignment. If the letter is less formal, the first line of each paragraph should be indented five spaces. In either a block style, or informal style letter, a line between paragraphs should be skipped, especially in typed or printed copy, to help make the text more readable.
