                                 Jud News

                                by David Epley

I hope Patsy and Laverne had a good vacation. We have had nothing but hail this last two weeks at Jud. The meanest storm came up you everseen in your life. First time we went to the celler in ten years. But we had grandkids so we went.

Danny and Carlos thought the storm was over and came to the house. But me and Matt and the kids stayed in the celler when the big one did hit. It blew Butch’s barn away and Albert’s shed away. It sucked two windows out of the house and the air conditioner pads out of the air coinditioner. It had to be 197.9 miles an hour. It had to because i was watching it from the celler. It pulled carelessweeds up. The hail was so bad it ruint all our cotton and beat Estells gordes off the porch.

We are going back with good Sudan. So if you need some you know where to come. I told Danny and Carlos and Matt i would sidestep a tornado and bolt of lighting hit a tree 50 yards from us. So i hooked it. A few hail balls went to falling. I should not have said that. Because i don’t have a row of cotton left. So don’t ask or you may receive. But Whimpy and Warren’s cotton is lookin real good. About 8 weavels to the square. J.D. still has his salt water problem. And Greg is still stumbling through the tublits. Our commissioner is out here fixing the roads. We all sure thank him for that. The last one to do that was Q.D. Byrd. And that has been many a year. So he is bound to be a good man. Mary and Whimp carried their grandkid home. The traffic was so bad they met them 50 miles outside Ft. Worth. Estell finally sold her old wash bain for 100.00 She new it was worth 3,000 but she was in a bind. The wind sunk our boat. Mary and Sug came out and pulled it in with their boat. We are trying to kill the moss out of the tank so all the kids will have a good place to swim. Jane has took Bill’s job planting trees.

Hope better news next week. The storm took a 2x6 off the pinic table at the tank. But left a 55 gallon barrell of trash right next to it. But some good came out of it. Peanut came seen the damage. And Kennith Burt got him a job building a cellar. He ought to be through the end of this week. So if you need a cellar, call him.
