Many may wonder why the golf course was put up for sale and not just left in the care of Michelle Marcum as in years past. Well one argument is the courses condition. Each fairway holds its own unique problems from root overgrowth, flooding, lack of playable grass, and too much debree in the playing area. There are numerus complaints about restrictions and adherince to golf rules and conduct by other customers, Often their are problems with customers drinking too much on the course around miners and not flowing proper golf dress guidlines and conduct.
As a regular customer to the golf course myself, i consider the decision made by the city to be a good one. The West Richland golf course has a reputation for being on the run down side of things with a relaxed point of view on rules. The kind of place to go with your buddies on a saturday and enjoy a couple of cold ones in the sun, not to play golf. This is a opportunity for the West Richland Golf Course to establish themselves among the already quality golf courses in the Tri Cities area.
