PROJECT 5C
Eva Peron, Argentina's Humanitarian

I chose the attached photo because I feel that is displays the compassion and dedication that Eva had for children and the people of Argentina which, as I mentioned in Components A and B, is the way that I feel she truly was.    www.evaperon.org

Most photos of Evita are in black and white, as is the one I chose. There are some colorized photographs, mostly from her performing period.

From the many photos that I have seen, Eva is always dressed quite simply.  Her hair is always pulled back and she is always very tidy, but she never seems to be showing off or acting arrogant.   This photo is one of the only that I have seem with her wearing a hat, which could mean that this was an official or planned visit to a school or perhaps an orphanage.  The only photos showing her dressed otherwise are at inaugurations, or official government events.  In these photos she is seen in gorgeous flowing gown and
furs.

As shown in the photo I selected, and in many others, Evita seems to be very approachable by the public.  She is always smiling when she is seen amongst her community.  I get the impression that she is generally happy to relate with them.

However, there is always another side.

Could she be so well trained through her many years of acting that she is able to fool the majority of the public and myself into believing that she is truly compassionate?  Could she have done everything that she did with a greater plan in mind?  Was she only trying to expand the power that she had over the citizens of Argentina?  Could she have been looking to get more political power by using her false humanitarianism for votes?

I doubt it, but we are all free to make our own conclusions, just remember, it is better to make those conclusions after you are well informed.
