This is another photo of William earlier in life.He was a conductor most of his life and retired after many years of service.He worked for the Western Maryland Railway for 47 years.
For the last 25 years of service William was the conductor
on a "Travelling switcher" that made daily circut from
Hagerstown to Shippensburg,Waynesboro,Williamsport and back.
D.C. Sensenbaugh, Western Maryland's assistant superintendent
called Stump "one of the best conductors we ever had".
William M. Stump Born 3/28/1907.He was the 8th. child of William and Mary Stump.
