>     GOALS :UNDERSTANDING THE USAGE OF"WHO" AND "WHICH" IN RELATIVE CLAUSE
>     OBJECTIVES:*TO LEARN THE USAGE OF "WHO" FOR PEOPLE IN RELATIVE CLAUSE
>                *TO LEARN THE USAGE OF "WHICH" FOR OBJECTS OR THINGS IN RELATIVE CLAUSE
>                *TO MAKE DESCRIPTIONS OF PEOPLE OR OBJECTS THAT THEY USE IN  THEIR DAILY LIVES WHIT USING
                  "WHO"  AND "WHICH" IN RELATIVE CLAUSE.
>     LEVEL :BEGINNER
>     MATERIALS:PICTURES,TEXBOOKS,BOARD

   PRE-TEACHING(10 MINUTES)
>        After greetings our conversation will go on about how SS feel that day.When SS get accustomed to the class atmosphere,two pictures will be shown to SS and pictures will be stuck on the board.In the 1.picture there is a girl and the girl is looking at the shopwindow.In the  2.picture there  is a house with a garden and a garage.In the garden there is trees, flowers,a dog and a cat.I will say "I have two pictures of Sally and her house" then I will want SS to describe these pictures.Their answers will be written on the board.
>      
Their descriptions such as
"There is a girl in the picture.
She is beautiful and tall.
She wears a green skirt and a white body.
She wears black hat and black shoes
.She is looking at the shopwindow.
She will do shopping."
>
... and about the 2.picture
"There is a house.It is two floor.
The house has a big  window and a large balcony.
There is a big garden.
There are teers and lowers.
A brown dog and a black cat are fighting in the garden."  will be written on the board. Then I will say" you  described 2 picture,but your all >sentences began węth she....or there is...or the house... and your descriptions are so long.You will have a chance to describe people or things with a combined sentences.By this way,you won't need to start to our sentences with she... ,The house...You can say:

>"The girl who is tall wears green skirt and a body" 
"The girl who is looking at the shopwindow wears black hat." or
"The house which is two floor has a large balcony."  .....and all these sentences with "who and which" will be written on the board.

WHILE-TEACHING (70 MINUTES)

>
1.ACTIVITY(10 MINUTES):I will give some sentences and I will want them to combine these sentences with "who or which" in order to see if they learned how to combine these sentences with "who and which"These are sentences:

>  a)That is Jackie.Jackie went to America last year.
>  b)My sister often goes to Paris.My sister has a flat in Antalya.
>  c)Tuna is going to Ankara next week.Tuna is one of my best friend.
>  d)The literature book is red and yellow.The literature book is on the second shelf.
>  e)I have got a villa.The villa is in Newyork.
>  f)I whatched a film.The film takes two hours.
>  g)Allan teaches us English.Allan works in a bank.
>      
SS. will write their answers on the board.At the end of this activity,they will learn to combine  two sentences in a one with "who and
>which" that have the same subject.

2.ACTIVITY(15 MINUTES):I will say"And now we have very interesting group-work activity."The class will be seperated in to 6 groups.Each group will have 4 students and I will want them to describe one student in a class with his/her apperances and characteristics with using "who" in relative clause.Their descriptions will be written on a paper.At the end of this group-work,each group will select their spokesman, and that student will read what they have written in front of the class. And SS will try to guess the person that is described.for example:In the      1. group Lale will be described.Their descriptions such as:

>"the girl who is tall has green eyes "The girl who is from Denizli plays basketball in school team."
>"The girl who is very friendly tells jokes at break times.
>"The girl who carries green umbrella has a brown bag."
>

3.ACTIVITY:(15 MINTUTES):In this activity,pictures that is full of objects we use in our daily lives will be given to the SS one by one.The objects will be numbered in the picture and each student will describe one object.For example:

>    "It's a tool which we use in the kitchen."
>    "It's a long handle which is used in making an omlette."
>
Frying pan will be described like that and the other SS will tryto guessit's number 8.The student who give the right answer, will read his/her own description.And our activity will go on like that.

>     At the end of this activity SS will comprehend that "which" is used for objects or thigs.

4.ACTIVITY(10 MINUTES):This time a fill in the blanks activity will be given to SS. SS will write "who" or "which" in the blanks.This activity is again to see whether they can understand the usage of "who or which"

   a) That is the woman .....works in the post office.
>  b)I don't like the films.... are very violent.
>  c)Are these all letters..... cama this morning?
>  d)This is the sweather..... I bought on saturday.
>  e)A bi-lingual person is someone..... can speak two languages equally well.
>  f)Have you seen the book ..... was on my desk.
>  g)They won the cup .....is made of gold.
>  h)Albert Davis..... is only 25 is a new manager of acme export ltd.
>  i)I found a jacked..... is made of leather last night.

5.ACTIVITY(20 MINUTES):As the last activity,we will do speaking activity.I will tell a story about two twins."OK .Students I have an interesting topic to talk.At first I will tell you a story"Then I will begin "In 1943  two identical twins were born in Ohio.Their moter wasn't married so she gave her twins for adoption.The twins seperated and they grew up in different parts of the country ,unaware of each other.The two >man began doing research and discovered that they were twins.Finally they met each other in 1989.The similiarities of the  twins were amazing. For example:They each had a blond wife and three children.They each had a yellow house.They both had dogs and similiar hobbies.But of course they have differences.I will give some information about these twins.You will talk about these people's qualifications with using who and which."

Here are some information about 1.twin:
>   a)He has a modern ranch style home
>   b)He is married to a woman named Betty.
>   c)He likes to play football.
>   d)He has a German shpherd named Prince.
>   e)He has 3 children-all boys.

  
Here are some information about 2. twin:
>   a)He has old-fashioned bungalow style home.
>   b)He is married to a woman named Bernice.
>   c)He likes to play basketball.
>   d)He has a poodle named King.
>   e)He has 3 children-all girls

   They will talk about the qalifications of twins with using "who and which" in relative clause.For example:
>     A:"Which twin is married to Bernice?"
>     B:"The twin who has old fshioned bungalow is married to Bernice."
>     A:"Which twin has 3 girls?"
>     B:"The twin who is married to Bernice has 3 children."
>     A:"Which twin prefers basketball?"
>     B:"The twin has poodle named King prefers basketball."

  POST- TEACHING(10 MINUTES)
>      At the end of the lesson I'll do the short summary of the lesson.I'll say "OK,We learned "who" and "which" in relative clause today. You understood that"who"is used for describing people and"which " is used for describing things or objects.I'll give 2 sentences and want them to combine with "who or which".

>    a)I know an old woman.She swallowed a fly.
>    b)They won the cup. The cup is made of gold.
>    Students will give the answers with  being aware of the usage of "who and which"in relative clauses.

EVALUATION
>          The SS. in prep-b are very succesfull in understanding the usage of "who and which" in relative clause while combining the sentences and filling in the blanks.
