Submitted by Fazilet Canoglu DAILY LESSON PLAN LESSON:English LEVEL:Intermediate TIME:90 Minutes UNIT:"JUST"in present perfect tense MATERIALS:Pictures,board,text book GOAL:To teach the use of "just" in prersent perfect tense. OBJECTIVES:By the end of the lesson,students will be able to use "just" in present perfect tense and make sentences with "just". PRE-TEACHING (10 MINUTES) Greetings and warm-up.I will ask some questions about their daily life .how are you today?Are there any questions about last lesson?Then, I will talk about the event that ý experienced yesterday. "Oh,children!I met one of my old friends yesterday.she was shopping and she seemed very tired.I first said: Hello Sibel,how are you? She said: Fine and you? I said: I'm fine too. Then ý asked: I'm going to a restaurant for lunch.What about eating something together? She said: Oh,thanks dear but I have just eaten a big pizza. Then, I offered drinking something but she said: Oh,thanks dear.I just drunk a coca-cola.But I don't say "no" to a cigarette if you have. And I said: Oh,I'm sorry dear but I have just drunk the last one. Later,we said goodbye to each other. WHILE-TEACHING ACTIVITY 1 (15 MINUTES) For first activity, I will bring four pictures to the class.These pictures will be related to the subject. In first picture,there is a bride and a groom that are leaving from the church.Iwill ask the students: What do you think about this picture?As for you,what have they just done? -They have just married. In second picture,there is a man who is paying a bill in a restaurant. -He has just eaten his dinner. In third picture,there is a woman who is carriying a lot of packets. -She has just done shopping. In fourth picture,there is a girl who is yawning and removing from her bad. -She has just waken up. ACTIVITY 2 (15 MINUTES) I will write some dialogs on the board.And ý will want them to fill in the blanks to check if they can use the "just" in appropriate sentences or not.So I will apply completion drill. A:Your breathe smells bad B:Because,I.............................(smoke a cigarette) A:Why is your sister at hospital now? B:Because,she.........................(have a baby) A:Are you hungry? B:Because,he............................(play football) ACTIVITY 3 (15 MINUTES) I will give some words and want students to form sentences with using "just" in present perfect tense.First,I will write an example on the board. e.g:(he-play-basketball) He has just played basketball. 1-(he-write-a poem)................................... 2-(I-watch-tv)........................................ 3-(Sally-make-a cake)................................. 4-(they-go to-a party)................................ 5-(I-have-a bath)..................................... ACTIVITY 4 (15 MINUTES) In last avtivity,I will use question and answer drill.I will ask some questions to students to check whether they can make sentences with "just" or not. 1-What have you just eaten? 2-What have you just watched on tv? 3-What have you just played? 4-What have you just done? POST-TEACHING (15 MINUTES) After the activities,ý will give them some exercises to measure their avarage of understanding. EXERCISES Exercise 1 Put the words into correct order. 1-Sally/from/has/husband/separated/just/her. 2-Has/moved/a/he/house/into/just. 3-I/a/accident/have/car/just/had. 4-Just/he /bought/new/a/bike/has. 5-The/has/plane/taken/just/off. Exercise 2 Find the mistakes in sentences below. 1-I has just gotten up. 2-we have just turn back Turkey. 3-She have just eaten her lunch. 4-He has just finish his homework. 5-I has just learned that she is ill. EVALUATION (5 MINUTES) If they are still having problems while doing exercises ,I will continue to give another examples and exercises. |
