Sd.Kfz.6

Sd.Kfz.6 was produced from 1935 to 1943 by Buessing-NAG and Daimler-Benz. Some 3660 were produced from 1939 to 1943 and were utilized in the same role as lighter Sd.Kfz.11. Sd.Kfz.6 was heavier and more expensive than Sd.Kfz.11, while its performance was not much better. According to German documentation, cost of single Sd.Kfz.6 was 30000 RM, compared to 22000 RM for Sd.Kfz.11. They were used to tow light howitzers and 75mm guns. The vehicle was also used as a weapon platform for 37mm Flak and 76.2mm captured Soviet Pak guns. There were 757 in service as of March 1st of 1945.

Sd.Kfz.6 was also produced in following variants:
  • Sd.Kfz.6/1 - artillery version.
  • Sd.Kfz.6/2 - 3.7cm Flak 36 auf Selbstfahrlafette Sd.Kfz.6/2.
  • Sd.Kfz.6/3 - 7.62cm Pak 36(r) auf 5t Zugkraftwagen "Diana" Sd.Kfz.6/3.
